This already happened in 1965, it was called the second Vatican council, congregations like the CMRI and other sedevacantist congregations rejected the council almost immediately, and preserve the faith with an unbroken apostolic lineage that dates back to St. Peter. Today there are over 100 sede churches in the US alone and they grow rapidly. There is no LARP because the faith never ceased to be.
