Breaking: Russia & China at WAR!?
If “America First” is ever going to be a reality, we better pay close attention to what the other members of the global Nuclear Club are doing.
Below are the top three critical issues (my opinion) that Xi and Putin discussed or agreed upon during their recent summit in Beijing. Keep in mind, these two leaders have met nearly forty (40) times so they have a deep personal relationship as well as that which each nation shares.
1. ENERGY/ECONOMICS: They signed off on massive energy and economic deals. Given the situation in Eastern Europe and the Middle East, their meeting had a very heavy focus on advancing major energy cooperation, including the “Power of Siberia 2” gas pipeline and a long-term oil & gas agreement. Russia, with its vast natural resources in fossil fuels and rare earth elements aims to boost supplies to China amid global tensions. It is reported there were over fifty (50) separate bilateral trade and economic deals signed off on.
2. DEEPEN ALREADY EXISTING STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS: Xi and Putin committed to reinforcing their own personal relationship but also acknowledged their respective nation’s historic ties as well as a shared border further deepening their strategic partnership. Recognizing their 30 years of close ties, both leaders reinforced their comprehensive strategic partnership. This includes signing a joint declaration on advancing bilateral relations to a “higher standard” and broader cooperation in trade, tech, and other fields.
3. AN EMERGING MULTIPOLAR WORLD: The third, and of great interest for America (and to me), especially as we examine the many threats and challenges facing us after more than two decades of war, massive and unstoppable debt, and internal political challenges further dividing our republic is the idea of a “Multipolar World.”
A Multipolar World is a global order in which several major powers or power centers (such as the US, China, Russia, EU, & India) share significant influence, competing and cooperating without any single nation dominating.
This contrasts with a unipolar (one superpower) or bipolar (two superpowers) system.
They each emphasized a shared vision of a multipolar international order (countering U.S.-led alliances), plus held discussions on regional hotspots like Ukraine and the Middle East (Iran). Their aim is to project stability and alignment on international affairs.
The meeting is described as a “substance-heavy” meeting with many concrete deliverables expected.
Coming on the heels of the Trump-Xi summit has an appearance (to me) of a well choreographed effort to place the United States in a less than advantageous geo-strategic position.
The devil is in the details of the Xi-Putin Summit. As more light is shined on all their various meeting outcomes emerge (ie., joint statements and signed deals) we should expect to gain a sense of direction these nations will head as we enter the 2nd quarter of the 21st Century.
Interesting times ahead for sure. Again, our situation is vastly different than it was post World War II. in fact, it is vastly different than at the end of the Cold War circa 1990. Time for every American leader to find ways to come together otherwise we will find ourselves in a place of obedience instead of enlightenment.
Pray for our troops, our first responders, and as Memorial Day approaches, never forget the many sacrifices made for so many by so few.

Breaking Tulsi Gabbard Departure; Might it signal other issues?
One thing for sure is that Tulsi’s departure signals personal sacrifice amid extraordinarily difficult duties and circumstances.
However, the optics during wartime (yes, our nation is at war) will be amplified by many with conspiracies, perceptions of conspiracies, and many credible and incredible social media observations of instability inside the administration, transition friction, or unresolved internal debates over the war’s direction, purpose and/or justification.
History will be the best judge of those decisions that caused the U.S. to enter this war in the first place, but for now, we’re in it and it has to be resolved in our favor.
In my judgement, Tulsi has been one of the most effective members of President Donald J. Trump‘s cabinet all while dealing with obvious internal disagreements and tensions.
The “Acting” leadership might fill the immediate gaps, but sustained effectiveness depends on how quickly a permanent replacement is confirmed and whether the IC maintains coherence during this transition.
While everyone is replaceable, Tulsi brought a unique no nonsense approach to her job as the DNI. That will be a huge void to fill. The bureaucracy will move quickly to fill in holes but instead of maintaining her level of transparency, the holes will be filled with concrete and fences will be erected around them.
Wars test institutions.
Our President understands there is already a serious deficit of trust between the Intelligence Community and the people it is suppose to serve. Tulsi was well on her way to closing that deficit.
The President also has a big task on hand to quickly fill the gap or risk serious concerns about trust as the nation rolls into another challenging political season, one this President and our nation can ill afford to be on the losing side of.
Leadership changes is a stress point in the mildest of situations. However, in this era of uncertainty where great challenges and threats face our nation, this change is one that must be handled with great skill.
Lastly, this leadership change is not necessarily fatal, but the transition of another cabinet member, one of such prominence as the Director of the United States intelligence system, rates more than a footnote in the Trump presidency. This loss may require a chapter all by itself.

Breaking: Restoring Trust!
My friend Seth Keshel is one of the most honest and rigorous minds in America when it comes to the data behind our elections.
After the 2022 midterm disaster, Seth sent me a private message. Like many of us, he was discouraged. The fight felt heavier than the progress. What I told him then, I will tell everyone reading this now.
Our faith teaches that with God all things are possible. That does not mean we sit on our hands and wait for Him to fix what He called us to fix. We seek His direction, and then we move. We stand our posts. God does not want us cowering in the trench while Satan rampages through our institutions and through this world. He has tasked us with proclaiming truth and shining His light into the darkest places. There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is sovereign over all, does not cry, "Mine."
That message was for Seth on a hard day two years ago. It is for every American with eyes open today.
Seth's new book, The American War on Election Corruption: The Crusade to Restore Trust in Voting, is the most comprehensive account of election fraud ever assembled in a single volume.

Dear Mr. President Donald J. Trump
The regime in Iran is lying to you and your negotiators (period, stop!). Do not believe a word they say. I know you want to get out of this mess. All Americans want this unnecessary war to end. Keep in mind, as you have been told many times, Iran is still the leading state sponsor of terrorism (all anyone needs to say is Hezbollah, Hamas & Houthis, never mind IRGC-QF). None of these organizations are going away with this deal.
How about getting them to first publicly apologize for killing American Soldiers and U.S. Marines many times over (especially on this Memorial Day weekend). Yes, we are all sick of it.
And yes, the people of Iran must step up, but we need to signal to them, we will not concede their freedoms to the insane regime in Teheran. They deserve better. If we don’t, we will cause an entire population to be enslaved. For this, we have to smartly use our Middle East partners to support them along with our covert and clandestine operators. Trust me, if you support, this is very doable.
Anyway, I’m watching everything (like most of the world is) and admittedly I do not have all the information. But if we pay tribute to the regime to the tune of $25B, I’m concerned they’ll use it for nefarious purposes down the road.
No nukes in Iran may be a noble idea (an end goal for your administration) but the regime has blatantly lied to our faces before, why do you now believe they will tell you the truth?
Give it some thought. Get some out of the box solutions, and rethink your position. The art of the deal tells you to do that from time to time.
Now may be that time.

There are 8 men and women I think about every Memorial Day. I have for more years than I care to count.
I had just taken command of a battalion when my operations NCO walked into the command post with the kind of quiet in his voice that rearranges a man's life. A helicopter was down. I started walking up the road toward the smoke. When I came over the rise, there was no helicopter. Only a black patch burned into the earth in the rough outline of where the aircraft had come to rest. Inside that outline, 8 small bumps. The silence that followed is one I have never been able to describe to anyone who was not standing there with me.
33 years in the uniform of this Nation taught me that the fallen are not asking for our tears. They are asking for our fidelity. They are asking whether we will defend the Constitution they died protecting and whether we will stand watch over this Republic in peace as faithfully as they stood watch over it in war.
This Memorial Day, stand up a little straighter, hold your children a little closer, love your Country a little louder, and pray a little harder.
The watch they kept must not be dropped on our shift.

A close friend sent me this today as a reminder of so much sacrifice that Americans have endured to protect the sanctity of our freedoms. Maintaining freedom demands sacrifice. Freedom has required it in our past and it will require it in our future.
