About self-love…
For years, the concept of loving oneself seemed selfish and narcissistic to me. I was tired of hearing the phrase: ‘You can’t love others until you love yourself’. Sure I can! I thought to myself…
Surely we are not here to be the centre of our own universe?! Isn’t the whole point of this human existence, to be able to share and experience a connection with others? Aren’t we here to have an impact in other people’s lives rather than just focus on our own? Isn’t selflessness the aim of a higher spiritual condition? 🤔
It’s almost taken me my entire life to unpack and decipher this conundrum (I must be daft!🤪).
I think the notion of ‘loving’ oneself is where the cognitive dissonance started for me. To me, it seemed it should be more a question of ‘respecting’ oneself, for the simple reason, that you can only respect or admire someone that is deserving of it, whereas we often love people that are totally underserving of our affection.
This made total sense to me; if I choose righteousness, morality, kindness, truth, honour and courage as my life’s leitmotif, having respect, pride and admiration for myself is a given.
The result is that when you earn your own respect, you don’t put up with other people disrespecting you. You know your worth, because you know the effort, the strength and the will that it takes to always make the right choices.
Thus far, I was satisfied that I was simply uncomfortable with the word ‘’self-love’, it should really be ‘self-respect’. But soon enough I realised why it had to be ‘love’.
In the same way that we don’t stop respecting or loving our children when they make mistakes, we must be able to apply that to ourselves, and that only happens when ‘love’ comes into play.
Loving oneself is about knowing one’s worth because you know you always try your best, but it’s also about forgiving yourself when you falter.
This is the definition of unconditional love; the capacity for forgiveness must always be part of the equation and if you can’t put it into practice with yourself, how are you going to apply it towards others?
The phrase should therefore be slightly longer in my opinion:
‘You can’t love others until you love yourself, because you will only love yourself when you become deserving of such love and only then, will you be able to love others, truly.’
I can honestly say, that I have come to deeply love myself, for I always try my darnest and my capacity for love towards others has only become greater, for I know how hard it is to walk the straight path.
If you don’t love yourself, start making the choices that will make you respect yourself, the love will come as a consequence of it. ❤️❤️❤️

Drifting on a silver sea.
I think we are all drifting on a silver sea all beautiful souls trying to help each other find our way and we all have our part to play in that .Yet if you are like me you sometimes find yourself with information over lode witch can begin to drag you down .When this happens remember the best mentor you have is your higher self so just step away and listen to your own intuition and wait till you can make sense of what you are trying to take on .You are all you need to be right now and no one is more or less then you for we are indeed all one and a part of the whole .May love walk with us all today.
❤️❤️❤️

We are always seeking to be found, to be seen, to be recognised. It’s almost as if our existence depended on others confirming we actually exist.
Some people argue, that if a tree were to fall over in the middle of nowhere, witnessed by nobody, would it even make a sound? Does sound exist in the absence of hearing ears? Does anything exist in the absence of observing eyes?
Who or what are we, in the absence of being seen? or heard? or touched? or sensed? Isn’t the whole point of the human experience, to be witnessed in ways that we could never be witnessed in soul?
I am only a mother because I have children that witness me as such and I was once a wife because a man chose to see me and treat me as one, but in the absence of their recognition of me as mother or wife, I would be neither.
Would I even be a human being in the absence of all humans around me? 🤔 I suspect not…
We make each other what we are, by being witnesses to each others existence. This is why the human connection is so intrinsically engraved in our consciousness, because it validates our very being.
None of us want to get lost, what we’re desperately seeking is to be found.
❤️❤️❤️
