Progress Update
We finally have a name!
Say hello to BYTE, a vorny text-based RPG for Discord
Iβve been working on this for a little while now and honestly, itβs kinda taken over as my main project. I wanted to build it on Discord because itβs easy to jump into, itβs on your phone, you can mess around with it at work, when youβre bored, wherever
Iβve got an early look at the skill system, backpack and inventory, and how leveling and XP will work. Itβs all super early and full of placeholders right now. Names, icons, art, all of that will get a proper overhaul as things come together
If you wanna see more updates or have ideas for how to support the project, Iβd love to hear it. Itβs just me working on this at the moment and it takes a fair bit of time, so Iβve been thinking about maybe setting up a Ko-fi or Patreon. Let me know what you think

Byte progress update!
Today, with some help from some lovely testers, we were able to successfully get trading working in Byte!
This is huge for me because it's an active trade system within Discord itself, with player confirmations and more.
The fact that two players can now trade items across their inventory while in Discord is awesome to me.
We've also improved a lot of the leveling and skills. There are still a few issues with syncing; however, I believe I've figured it out and got everyone who tested tonight all synced up, and it will continue to sync :)
I do understand that, yes, this is pretty much a point-and-click/button simulator, but I hope you guys enjoy it once it's available.
One step closer to having a persistent online vore mmo type thing :3

Byte - Version 0.3.0 Alpha
Progress Update!
Been grinding away at Byte lately and Iβm super excited to sayβ¦ Fishing and Cooking are in! π£π₯
Fishing was something I really wasnβt sure I could pull off, but now thereβs a whole little reaction-time fishing minigame with 16 different fish to catch, from tiny minnows to the legendary Crystal Fish. You can even target specific fish if youβre feeling picky, or just fish randomly and see what you get.
And yepβ¦ you can cook your fish too! π³ There's a little timing-based minigame for that, and higher cooking levels make it easier to hit those perfect green zones. Plus, there's a cute little Forest Cooking Station now.
On top of that, Iβve gone through and cleaned up a lot of the trading system, UI, and just general quality-of-life stuff. Trading feels way smoother, menus are less spammy, and skills like Fishing and Cooking are properly integrated alongside Woodcraft now.
Still balancing XP and progression but I think itβs feeling pretty good.
Slowly but surely, itβs turning into the weird little Discord vore MMO I always wanted to make :3

Byte - Version 0.5.0 Alpha
Big update alert!
Iβve added two brand new skills: Swordsmanship and Stomach. Thatβs right, you can now fight off wild forest creatures and straight-up eat them whole. π‘π½
Forest Expeditions got way more exciting with random encounters like sneaky Fox Archers popping out of nowhere. You can choose to fight for loot or just swallow your enemies whole. Thereβs a whole range of prey sizes from snack-sized foxes to massive meals that leave you wobbling, groaning, grabbing your squirming gut and somehow still hungry for more.
Digestion is fully tracked now with real-time timers, satisfying burps, and even bonus loot if you wait it out. You can even digest multiple enemies at once, each with their own progress bar.
Inventory got a major overhaul too. No more lost loot, every item has a unique ID to follow you around, and there are 16 new equipment items including some that boost your stomach capacity.
XP gains got a big boost everywhere. Woodcutting got a 15x increase so hitting level 50 is actually realistic. Combat XP is tripled because fighting should feel rewarding and worth your time.
I also squashed a bunch of bugs and added a Clear Expedition button so if you ever get stuck (too full to move, anyone?) you can reset and keep playing.
This update is all about growing stronger, fighting smarter, and eating more than ever before. The weird little Discord vore rpg thing Iβve been working on is getting closer to what I imagined :3

Doing it through Discord DMs was fun and all, but this setup actually lets people see what they're doing and not lose their minds

hey so i've been thinking of offering some funding options to help cover the cost of art assets and software for byte. building this game takes a lot, and this would help me speed things up and make the content way better
thanks to patreon support (which has already been amazing btw), i've been able to take some time off and really focus more on byte. these extra options would help push things even further, especially with visuals and new systems
in return, you'd get something cool added to the game. here's what i'm thinking
Β£50 β add a custom item to the game (5 available)
your own item idea, with effects you choose and art, added as a drop or craftable item
Β£250 β design an enemy npc (3 available)
come up with your own creature or character with attacks, behavior, name, and visual design
Β£300 β add a feature (3 available)
small gameplay or qol feature. you pitch it, i build it
Β£500 β design a skill (1 available)
create a unique skill with effects and visuals, tied into player progression
Β£650 β become an npc (SOLD OUT)
i'll work with you to turn you or your oc into an npc with custom dialogue and quests!

this would go straight into development costs and gives you a way to be part of the game too
