🇦🇷🏴❌💸— The libertarian president of Argentina, Javier Milei, announced the dissolution of the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP), the body responsible for tax collection in the country, replacing it with a leaner version: the Revenue and Customs Control Agency (ARCA)

💥 According to government spokesperson Manuel Adorni, during a press conference, this measure is part of a broad structural reform aimed at reducing public sector positions by 45%, focusing on streamlining the government apparatus.

⚡️ The change, according to the spokesperson, is also part of a larger strategy to end what he called Argentina’s "fiscal voracity" and the state's tax abuses.

"What belongs to each Argentine is theirs, and no one else's! The creation of ARCA aims to reduce the state, eliminate unnecessary positions, professionalize the agency, destroy corrupt circuits, and improve the efficiency of revenue collection and customs control, eliminating past privileges and optimizing public management."

📶 In addition to dissolving AFIP, the government also announced that 100 megahertz of telecommunications spectrum, previously reserved for the state-owned telecommunications company ARSAT, will be made available to the private sector for the development of 5G services.
