"Oppress as much as you want; I don't beg you for mercy... On the Day of Resurrection, we resort to Allah."

Students of the university of martyrs, all members of the University community, all the free people of our nation:

First, we salute with glory and honor the guns that did not lose their way and exalt the martyr of the Mountain of Fire, the clashing Khalil Al-Anis. However, at a time when the sounds of clashes are rising, the blood of the martyrs is flowing, and the heroic prisoners are enduring their heroism and sacrifice, the security forces of the [Palestinian] Authority insist on continuing their approach of oppression, criminality, torture, and serving the policies of the occupation. They persist in pursuing our people, arresting, and torturing them, disregarding all national, humanitarian, and ethical values, and ignoring all constraints of conscience or law. They dismiss all of our people's norms and the state of escalation against the occupation and its settler hordes. And we in the Islamic Bloc, in the face of the arrests and torture committed by these forces against our brothers and colleagues: Yahya Farah, Abdulghani Faris, and Abdullah Abu Qiyas, assert the following:

First: We strongly condemn the arrest and brutal criminal torture of our colleagues, which has left marks on their bodies but has not affected their determination. We hold these forces and the leadership of the [Palestinian] Authority fully responsible for the lives and safety of our colleagues, and demand their immediate release.

Second: We denounce the position of the Birzeit University administration and its deafening silence up to this moment and call on it to declare a clear stance rejecting the arrest and torture of its students, to intervene immediately legally and through the media, and through their relationships to release them and provide protection for them.

Third: We call on our colleagues and brothers in the student movement to take a unified and serious stance rejecting the arrest and torture of university students.

Fourth: We urge all university students to raise their voice in refusal against the arrest and torture of their colleagues, and to participate in actions and activities in solidarity with them and protest against their arrest.

In conclusion, we say to those near and far, and to all those who fantasize about breaking our will and undermining our determination, that by the grace of Allah we will continue on our path, honoring the covenants of the martyrs and prisoners and following on their path. You will only achieve disappointment and defeat. The Islamic Bloc will remain a pioneer of national and union action, and its knights will remain at the forefront, no matter the sacrifices. Allah is supreme over His command, but most people do not know.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine condemns the act of the Military Intelligence of Palestinian Authority for detaining the militant comrade, Ahmed Al-Mashaati, in Areeha prison on the grounds of his national role of resisting the occupation.

The Popular Front considers this act by the intelligence to be in conflict with the obligations of resisting the occupation, which is hastening to implement its project by decisively settling the conflict over the land, and using aggression, killing, confiscation of lands, expanding settlements, and other measures to impose this. This necessitates everyone, including the [Palestinian] Authority to support our people's resistance and its factions, instead of chasing its members.

We call on the Authority to compel the Military Intelligence to immediately release comrade Ahmed Al-Mashaati, and any militant detained or held due to resisting the occupation.

Note: Ahmed Al-Mashaati (Abu Marcel) is a leader of the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades in the West Bank. He has been held in PA detention since 2009, but last week was transferred to the PA's Areeha slaughterhouse, their infamous prison that holds political prisoners.

He has been wanted by the IOF since the second intifada and survived a number of assassination attempts. The Balata Brigade also issued a statement earlier in the week demanding his release lest "unwanted repercussions" occur.
