On the establishment of the Joint Room:
The Joint Operations Room was established in its final and current form in 2018. The need emerged to create a coordinating body among the factions to agree on the mechanisms of confrontation and management of the battle with the enemy.
However, this was not the beginning of the joint military work between the factions, which began in all stages of our people's resistance and struggle against the zionist occupation.
On the composition of the Joint Room:
The vast majority of the military wings of the Palestinian resistance factions fall within the joint operations room, which we consider one of its greatest achievements. It has formed a unifying framework for the resistance, covering all its political and intellectual affiliations.
We managed to integrate all the military situations by internal consensus. The number of military formations was over 40 before the formation of the Joint Room, but they are now 10 military wings, each with its political reference, within the framework of the Room's effort to organize military work in a governmental and popular environment that supports the resistance.
The leadership of the Room also seeks to integrate and unify three remaining military wings, so that the Room becomes a unifying framework for all factions, situations, and fighters without exception.
On what the leadership of the Joint Room has offered to the factions:
The leadership of the Joint Room provides constant communication and coordination among its components, in regular times as well as in times of emergencies. The work of resistance is continuous and not only in times of direct confrontation and war; thus; the room provides all factions with suitable facilities for work in multiple aspects that cannot be detailed in full.
These include: providing command and control systems, enhancing communication between the components of the room in regular times and in case of war, providing operational and intelligence situation assessments, participating in the logistical support and armament side according to specified mechanisms, as well as making practical and fruitful steps towards unifying military knowledge to reach a common understanding and a unified military and security knowledge background.
The leadership of the room has worked to enhance the military knowledge and experience of the field leaders in the wings of resistance. Many members have studied at the Palestinian Military Academy affiliated with the Al-Qassam Brigades, and several cohorts have graduated from the Academy over the past years.
The leadership of the Room established a special military site for it at the end of last year, and launched several joint training courses for the trainers of the military wings and their fighters, and held the "Strong Corner" maneuvers which were the first of their kind at the end of 2020 and became regular annual maneuvers. These maneuvers aim to increase the combat efficiency of the resistance fighters and maintain high readiness.
On the decision of battle:
Resistance advances year after year, improving its mechanisms and learning from its experiences, whether that is in terms of enhancing achievements or addressing and rectifying mistakes. Thus, the resistance has now reached a stage where war and confrontation cannot be undertaken without a unified, collective, and well-studied decision that takes into account the accumulation of power, strikes painful blows to the enemy, and chooses the timing, location, form, and tools of the battle in a way that serves the goals of our people, inflicts maximum harm on the enemy, and thwarts its plans.
