Dr. Dania Madida Perez, the director of the hospital, expressed along with other medical specialists deep gratitude for the donation. Majed Debsi of the International Relations Department of the PFLP emphasized the unjust nature of the ongoing blockade against Cuba. He stressed that these donations are a gesture of solidarity between the two peoples in their ongoing struggle against imperialist capitalism.

Months later, he was handed over by the PA to the zionist prisons from which he continues to lead the PFLP and release statements urging unity and international solidarity, previously leading hunger strikes even in solitary confinement.
