In Al-Akhbar today: Israeli Posing as Journalist Detained in Beirut's Southern Suburbs

An individual holding an Israeli passport, who claimed to be a journalist, was detained in Beirut's southern suburbs, according to sources from Al-Akhbar. This arrest highlights yet another attempt by the Israeli occupation to infiltrate Lebanon. The man, also holding a British passport, was discovered to be an Israeli after authorities found his passport bearing the name Yehoshua Tertakovisky. It turned out that only two articles signed by him were found online, both dating back to 2024.

This incident follows the recent arrival of numerous foreign journalists and humanitarian workers whose backgrounds have raised suspicions, even among veteran correspondents who have covered Lebanon for years. Two sources in prominent Beirut news agencies stated that their correspondents knew nothing about these arrivals. These individuals, primarily from the US, Europe, and Australia, have been staying in Ashrafieh and the Mövenpick Hotel. Despite their claims of media assignments, they are suspected of espionage for “Israel”.

Resistance forces have observed several of these individuals conducting daily tours in Beirut's southern suburbs under the guise of inspecting destruction, and their movements are now under close surveillance. In response, Lebanese security agencies received requests from US, UK, and European embassies for protection not only for their staff but also for these suspicious individuals.

This incident is not isolated; during the 2006 war, Israeli spies posing as journalists were uncovered, including the prominent Israeli analyst Roy Ben Yishai, who reported from Beirut's southern suburbs. Today, the resistance has significantly enhanced its ability to detect and monitor such infiltration attempts, further strengthening its defensive capabilities against Israeli espionage and subversive activities.

🚨 A number of paramedics ascended to martyrdom as a result of the IOF bombing Arzoun near Sour in southern Lebanon.

This comes just moments after the IOF carried out a massacre against paramedics inside a church in Derdaghiya near Sour.

In Wardaniyeh in Mount Lebanon, 5 martyrs ascended and 12 were wounded when the IOF bombed a residential building.

Who martyred at dawn today, Wednesday, 6th Rabi’ al-Thani 1446 AH corresponding to 09/10/2024, after being besieged in his home and engaging in a confrontation with enemy forces in the town of Aqaba, near Tubas in the northern occupied West Bank.

Al-Qassam Brigades praises the role of their heroic martyr in jihad and inflicting losses on the enemies of Allah. He participated in several heroic operations, the most notable being his involvement alongside the Qassami martyrs, commanders Raafat Mahmoud Dawasi and Ahmed Walid Abu Ara, in a shooting operation near the “Mehola” settlement in the northern Jordan Valley, which resulted in the death of a zionist soldier on August 11, 2024.

The brigades also recall the strength of coordination among the resistance factions in the West Bank governorates and the joint operations carried out by our fighters alongside various resistance factions. Among these was the Al-Damj ambush executed by the Qassami martyr and fighters Mohammed Amin Talal Abdullah, along with his comrade martyr Amjad Al-Qanairi, on 26th Safar 1446 AH corresponding to August 31, 2024.

And indeed, it is a jihad of victory or martyrdom.

🔻 The IOF admits to the wounding of 40 soldiers, 4 of them critically, as a result of battles on several fronts in the last 24 hours.

🚨 Yesterday, the IOF abducted, blindfolded, and transported 5 journalists to a military base. Among the journalists held is American journalist Jeremy Loffredo of the Grayzone, whose phone was stolen and who remains in custody over 24 hours later until now. The other journalists were reportedly released.

This abduction comes just a few days after Grayzone published a video of Jeremy investigating the effects of Iran's True Promise 2 operation, visiting the "Nevatim" Air Base and Mossad HQ in "Tel Aviv" to document the damage and the zionist entity's attempts to cover it up.
