DFLP condemns the arrest by the [Palestinian] Authority security services of the commander of the Tubas Brigade, Ahmad Abu al-'Aida.

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine condemned in a statement issued today the actions of the Palestinian Authority's security forces yesterday, arresting the commander of the resistance Tubas Brigade, who is pursued by the occupation forces, Ahmed Abu Al-Aida, which led to a state of tension in the city of Tubas. This resulted in violent confrontations with the residents, with clashes that included gunfire and road closures.

The Front considered in its statement that these practices cause great harm to the efforts to restore national unity, and to the popular base of the resistance, which is targeted by the occupation that commits the most heinous crimes against it and the resistance. This comes in the context of the ongoing genocide war launched by the fascist "israeli" government against our Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. These practices also cause great harm to the social fabric of our people and to civil peace, which we are in urgent need of preserving in these circumstances.

The shocking scenes that have been published documenting the assault and mistreatment of Palestinian prisoners in the zionist "Ofer" prison, under the direct supervision and orders of the terrorist minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, reveal the true criminal face of this Nazi occupier. They are a visual confirmation of the tragic conditions our prisoners endure inside these prisons.

What our prisoners are subjected to, including oppression, abuse, deprivation, and medical neglect—up to the announcement of their martyrdom—constitutes war crimes and clear violations of all conventions and laws concerning prisoners of war. These actions demonstrate how this occupation shirks any ethics or human values.

We affirm that broadcasting these scenes in conjunction with the first anniversary of the Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7 is a failed attempt to erase the humiliation and defeat that the occupation has suffered at the hands of our courageous resistance.
