In 2021 a violation was issued for the house amounting to 35,000 shekels. Despite paying the amount, occupation courts still issued a demolition order, with the choice of demolishing his own home or having the municipal team do it for them, alongside a fine of 50,000 to 60,000 shekels.
Al-Quds has seen a significant rise in demolitions. The Office of the Governorate of Al-Quds on Wednesday stated that over 320 demolitions were carried out by the occupation, of which 87 in Silwan, since October 7th, 2023. More than 30,000 properties in Al-Quds remain at risk, affect well over 100,000 inhabitants.
It is important to note that a number of houses and facilities were demolished without prior notification or "judicial" decision.
