Once again, the IOF used American-provided MK-84 bombs, 2,000 bombs with 900 pounds of explosives, in the Mawasi Khan Younis massacre today. These are the same bombs used in the July 2024 Mawasi massacre, which resulted in over 70 martyrs.
The explosive ammunition makes up 45% of the bomb's total weight and can create a crater about 15 meters wide and over 10 meters deep. It causes deadly damage around it, with a radius of approximately 73 meters.
These same US weapons have been used in previous massacres including in Jabalia, Al-Maamadani Hospital massacre, and Al-Nusseirat market massacre where US assistance to IOF was directly involved.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) confirmed that the large-scale brutal massacre committed by the occupation against a significant number of displaced people’s tents in Khan Younis at dawn today, Tuesday, which resulted in dozens of martyrs and injuries, and caused severe difficulties in recovery efforts due to the deep craters left by the bombing, is a new war crime within the ongoing campaign of genocide being waged by the occupation against our people, a campaign that knows no limits to its brutality and criminality.
The Front affirmed that this crime is a direct result of continued U.S. support and Arab complicity, which always provides the occupation with the green light to continue these horrific massacres against the displaced and shelter camps.
The PFLP stressed that war criminals Joe Biden and his vice president Kamala Harris continue to lead the war against our people, providing arms and support, while U.S. fleets take part in the aggression against the region and its people. This is evidenced by the presence of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff inside the operations rooms of the criminal occupation army yesterday.
The Front added that the occupation’s claims of targeting a command and control center for the resistance and the presence of leaders inside the tents is a false and fabricated claim aimed at justifying the brutal massacre it committed.
The PFLP called for an escalation of resistance operations and retaliation by all forces and fighters in Palestine, in response to these horrific massacres and the ongoing war of genocide. It also urged the Arab nation’s people to follow the path of martyr Maher Al-Jazi by carrying out deterrence operations against the occupation and colonists, and to escalate armed revolutionary violence using all forms of resistance as the means of confronting this occupier, its interests, and its settlers in Arab countries and around the world.
The Front affirmed that the forces of resistance face an important responsibility to protect our people, deter the crimes of the occupation, and prevent its terrorism from expanding to encompass the entire region.

The Occupation Army Committed a Massacre Against Displaced People in Tents in the Declared Humanitarian Zone in Al-Mawasi, Khan Younis, Southern Gaza Strip.
The new massacre provides further evidence that the international silence on the genocide against Palestinians, ongoing for 11 months, and the lack of appropriate responses to these mass killings encourage "israel" to commit more of these crimes.
Our initial investigations revealed that "israeli" warplanes dropped three MK-84 bombs after midnight on Tuesday on a cluster of tents housing displaced people in Al-Mawasi, Khan Younis, while they were asleep, creating three craters several meters deep and wide, which resulted in the obliteration and burial of at least 20 tents.
The area where the displaced people’s tents are located consists of sand dunes, meaning many of the tents, along with the families inside, were buried under the sand.
The initial toll of the victims exceeded 60 martyrs and wounded, and the massacre was carried out using U.S.-made bombs with wide destructive effects in an area filled with tents and displaced people.
The massacre reflects the occupation army’s intent to kill the largest possible number of civilians, especially since no prior evacuation warnings were issued before the bombing. Even if the claims of the presence of armed factions in the area were true, using several high-destructive bombs in a densely populated area and committing a massacre against civilians while they sleep cannot be justified under any circumstances.
"Israel" is always and under all circumstances obligated to follow international humanitarian law, particularly the principles of distinction, proportionality, military necessity, and the obligation to take necessary precautions, including the choice of methods and weapons used in military operations to minimize civilian casualties and injuries.
The new massacre comes a month after the bloody massacre committed by the occupation army in the bombing of Al-Tabeen School in Gaza, which resulted in the martyrdom of over 100 Palestinians, with no evidence of any armed presence or formations being found.
The ongoing silence and disregard for these unprecedented massacres in the history of warfare, which deliberately and repeatedly target civilians, is disgraceful and shameful. This silence provides a green light for the occupation to continue its clear policy of collective killing of Palestinians.
