The new academic year 2024/2025 begins in the governorates of the homeland, while more than 650,000 students in the Gaza Strip continue to be deprived of attending their schools for the second consecutive year. This coincides with the ongoing "israeli" occupation’s brutal war on Gaza, which by the end of August 2024, had led to the martyrdom of more than 11,500 Palestinian children of school age, in addition to tens of thousands of children being injured, suffering physical disabilities, and psychological trauma. Over 750 education sector employees have also been martyred, and thousands more have been injured. The occupation has deliberately targeted dozens of school and administrative buildings, causing 92% of them to be rendered out of service. The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, in its latest report, mentioned that in the past month alone, the occupation targeted 16 school buildings, leading to their destruction and the martyrdom and injury of hundreds of displaced persons.

The Ministry, viewing the ongoing crimes of the occupation against the education sector with great seriousness, and the deprivation of hundreds of thousands of children of their right to a safe education, calls on the United Nations, governments, international organizations, and institutions to urgently intervene to protect children in the Gaza Strip from the sadism of this occupier, its thirst for their blood, and its continued denial of their right to safety, protection, and education. At the very least, given the ongoing aggression and the unclear prospects for a ceasefire, there should be an immediate intervention by all parties to provide safe educational and recreational spaces for children across the Gaza Strip, and to pressure the occupation to allow the entry of essential educational materials during emergency times, such as temporary classrooms and their accessories, stationery, and educational materials and tools.

The Ministry affirms that it is working with all partners, within the available resources, to activate several educational and pedagogical options and alternatives. These include the implementation of various educational, recreational, and psychological support activities inside and outside the shelters.

In light of the ongoing refusal of the occupation to allow sufficient amounts of fuel to enter for health service providers in Gaza and its northern areas.

The services of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society are facing the risk of complete shutdown in the Gaza and North Gaza governorates due to the end of fuel reserves needed to operate ambulances, emergency medical clinics, and relief services. The society's teams in both governorates have been suffering from a severe shortage of fuel supplies for about three weeks, and are currently operating at minimal capacity. This situation poses a significant obstacle to the teams' ability to provide their services and deepens the humanitarian and health disaster affecting the Gaza and North Gaza governorates.

The halt in fuel supplies will lead to the complete cessation of the society's ambulance operations, preventing them from responding amidst the repeated targeting of civilians, as well as the shutdown of medical clinics that serve thousands of citizens.

🚨 Paramedic Hamdan Annaba ascended to martyrdom inside zionist prisons.

Hamdan was abducted by zionist forces on December 2nd 2023 while on duty with another paramedic during a mission to evacuate wounded from Gaza. Since that point, he was abducted, tortured, and no one knew anything about him.

Family sources confirmed that Hamdan was executed on the same day of his arrest, amid the occupation's silence. He is one of dozens who have ascended to martyrdom in zionist prisons due to torture since October 7th, 2023.
