The killing of the American activist in the West Bank is not the first war crime committed by the occupation. It works to silence activists and journalists, but its narrative in the media and public opinion is no longer acceptable.

She is one of over 17,000 child martyrs during this war, enduring hunger and bombing for 11 months, deprived of schooling for nearly a year. She was the eldest daughter in her family, which has been displaced 8 times since October 7th.
Tala was martyred on Tuesday while she was heading downstairs to play with her 12-year-old brother Salah. She ascended on the ground floor within minutes of the bombing.
"She loved to play. She loved life."
"Whatever she wanted, I'd get it for her."
These were the words of her father Hussam, whose arms she would curl up in when there was nearby bombing. The day before her martyrdom, she told her father that she dreamed of becoming a dentist, and that she wanted to celebrate her younger brother's 5th birthday later this month.
She asked him, "Why do we live like this with death and martyrs?" Her father responded: "When the war’s over, we’ll travel outside and God will reward you."
