🚨 As our people in Gaza face genocide, the occupation is taking advantage to ethnically cleanse our people in the West Bank.
The Palestinian Christian Kisiya family has been resisting terrorist settlers from stealing their home in Wadi Makhdour, Beit Jala village.
Alice Kisiya explained that the occupation destroyed her home and the restaurant her family owns in the village more than 20 times, and each time they rebuilt.
In 2017, a settler from the JNF claimed the land of the family belonged to her. After going to the court, Alice and her family obtained papers from the occupation courts proving the land in fact belongs to them.
Despite that, settlers protected by the IOF attacked the family to seize their home on July 31st. When Alice called the police to stop settlers from vandalizing and steal their property, they detained her brother who attempted to prevent the attack.
The IOF declared the family's land as a military closed zone, allowing settlers to stay in it.
The settlement meant to be built by Smotritch is illegal, even under "international law." Yet, occupation forces are annexing Wadi Al-Makhrour as part of it. Moreover, the valley is a UNESCO world heritage, now put in danger after gradually being stolen from the indigenous people of the land.
The occupation arrested Alice and her mother Michelle on Sunday after they were protesting in front of their stolen home. Michelle was later freed and banned her from returning to Makhdour for 15 days and Alice was released under bail last Monday.
