The Democratic Front Welcomes the ICC Prosecutor's Firmness in Accusing Netanyahu and Gallant of War Crimes
The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) welcomed the steadfastness of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in maintaining his legal stance by charging "israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Defense Minister Yoav Gallant with committing war crimes against the Palestinian people. The DFLP praised the prosecutor's refusal to yield to pressures exerted on him to retract his legal position by the United States, Germany, France, Britain, Hungary, and others.
The DFLP stated that the firmness of the ICC Prosecutor, Karim Khan, offers a glimmer of hope regarding the role that international institutions can play in providing international justice to oppressed peoples, such as the Palestinian people, who have been facing a genocidal war waged by Israel, supported by the United States and its NATO allies, for the past 11 months.
The DFLP called on the United States and its NATO allies to stop trying to impose their will on international institutions, such as the UN Security Council, the ICC, and the International Court of Justice, in order to obstruct international laws and legitimate international decisions, and to protect colonial aggressor states, foremost among them the "israeli" fascist state.
The DFLP commended the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, who have succeeded in presenting an honorable image as one of the peoples steadfast in their legitimate national rights, defending their land and national dignity, and refusing to submit, surrender, or compromise on their freedom, full independence, and the retrieval of every inch of their land from "israeli" occupation and settler colonialism.
The DFLP called on the political leadership of the Palestinian Authority to support and back the ICC Prosecutor’s positions by adopting a political path guided by the major outcomes of the Beijing Declaration. This includes a general call for the temporary leadership framework, the formation of a national unity government to assume its national responsibilities across all Palestinian territories, and avoiding distractions with issues that would only hinder the path to ending division, restoring institutional internal unity, and adopting a comprehensive confrontation strategy as approved by national institutions, particularly the Palestinian National Council (2018), the Central Council (2021) of the Palestine Liberation Organization, and the national consensus in the Beijing Declaration.
