Amid the challenging health conditions in the Gaza Strip, including the spread of infectious diseases, the overflow of sewage into streets and among displaced persons' tents, and the lack of personal hygienic supplies and clean drinking water, the Ministry of Health confirms the following after laboratory confirmation of a polio case in a child exhibiting polio-like symptoms:
Several specialized committees have been formed to carry out various tasks aimed at limiting the spread of the polio epidemic.
These efforts involve collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, UNRWA, and several experts.
Preparations have been set for a vaccination campaign against polio, targeting children under 10 years of age. The campaign is pending the arrival of vaccines in the Gaza Strip.
The Ministry emphasizes that this campaign cannot succeed without enabling medical teams to operate widely, which necessitates an urgent ceasefire.
We urge citizens, especially mothers, to cooperate with the medical teams that will be stationed at various points and health centers for the campaign.
The locations of these points and centers will be announced when the campaign begins.
The Ministry stresses that the vaccination campaign alone will not suffice without addressing the root causes, such as sewage problems, waste accumulation among displaced persons' tents, the provision of safe drinking water, and an end to the aggression.
The Ministry of Health warns that the spread of this epidemic will not be confined to the Gaza Strip, and international institutions and relevant authorities must take necessary measures to prevent its spread within and beyond the Gaza Strip.

In support of the steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in backing their brave and honorable resistance, the Islamic Resistance is carrying out a series of operations against positions and deployments of the “israeli” enemy's army along the Lebanese-Palestinian border on Friday, 16-08-2024, as follows:
1. At 13:15, targeting a fortified position where “israeli” enemy soldiers were positioned at the Birkat Risha site with guided weapons, hitting it directly and inflicting confirmed casualties.
2. At 14:40, targeting “israeli” enemy soldiers deployed around the “Metat” barracks with rocket weapons, hitting it directly.
3. At 16:30, targeting “israeli” enemy soldiers deployed around the Jal Al-Deir site with Falaq missiles.
4. At 17:35, targeting the Al-Assi site with artillery shells, achieving a direct hit.
5. Targeting buildings used by “israeli” enemy soldiers in the “Netua” settlement with appropriate weapons in response to the enemy's attacks on the steadfast southern villages and safe homes.
6. Launching an aerial attack with a squadron of attack drones on the headquarters of the armored battalion of the 188th Brigade at the "Rawia" barracks, targeting the positions and locations of its officers and soldiers, achieving precise hits and inflicting confirmed casualties, in response to the “israeli” enemy's attacks on the steadfast southern villages and safe homes.

Saad Hassan Baraka, who oversees the Deir Al-Balah cemetery, has buried 19,000 martyrs since October 7th.
He says that he buried 200 to 300 martyrs a week, when he used to bury five people at most before the war.
"I buried the Tabatibi family. 47 women, and 16 of them were pregnant...I don't know how to sleep after seeing cut up children and women."
"The cemetery is filled. I put graves over graves, two or three over each other. We started creating floors for the martyrs."
"Their issue isn't with Sinwar or Hayya or anything. Their issue is to eliminate the Palestinian people in totality."
"I work from 6 AM to 6 PM every day. I only buried two or three Hamas members. All of the rest are children, women, and elderly."

🚨 After 408 days of imprisonment, several court orders for his release, and a 20-day-long hunger strike, fighter Mohammed Brahma has been freed from the prisons of the treacherous Palestinian Authority.
Brahma was abducted by the Palestinian Authority forces in July 2023 when he and his comrade Murad Malaysha of the Jaba' Brigade mobilized to head to Jenin to support their brothers in the Fury of Jenin battle. The PA refused to release Brahma to attend his father's funeral in March 2024, despite the orders for his release.
In November, Mohammed and Murad were assaulted by PA forces in the infamous Areeha prison, known for torture. In January, Mohammed's mother asked that her son's name be included in any future prisoner exchange deal as he embarked on a third hunger strike, where she highlighted the PA's hypocrisy between how it treats sons of its own country versus colonial settlers. #FreeThemAll
