The family of the martyred resistance fighter and freed prisoner Tariq Dawoud held a mourning ceremony for their son after his ascension to martyrdom after carrying out a heroic operation in the city of #Qalqilya yesterday. Tariq's body remains held captive by the occupation forces, preventing him from having a proper burial.
In the attached video, Tariq's father says: "He was imprisoned for about a year. The occupation was going to sentence him for 7 years. He was freed in the [November 2023 prisoner] exchange deal and the period of his pursuit began... Tariq was in pursuit for around 7-8 months, and everyday they [the occupation forces] would come and arrest us, they arrested his mother, they arrested me, his uncles, brothers, and every week they would come to raid our home. And yesterday, we received the news from them that Tariq was martyred, and praise be to God."
In media 3, his mother says, "He was a normal kid, and when he turned 14 years old, he chose the path of the homeland, at first and in the end, we were afraid for him, and refused at first because we were scared and he was a child, but Tariq waned this path. We tried with him, but he remained [on the path]. He was arrested when he was 15 and a half years old... He was released at 16 and a half years old and then the war of October 7 began, Tariq was arrested for 50 days of the war, he was very uncomfortable inside the prison, when he was released in the [2023 prisoner exchange] deal, he was supposed to be sentenced for 7 years, but Tariq did not want to return to prison, he said he'd die before turning to prison, so he found refuge with the Tulkarem Brigade, when the occupation army came to arrest him, he fled to Tulkarem. From then on, he began the path, the path of the brigade. So we were surprised that he returned to Qalqilya to execute an operation... We didn't know. I mean Tariq is 18 years old, MashAllah, praise be to God, what he did at this age, no one else would do. My message is that this is imposed upon us, with war and a life where we will remain stationed in Palestine and praise be to God everyone will choose the path they love at the beginning and end."
