🚨 The Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs' Commission and the Palestinian Prisoner's Club mourn former prisoner Wafa Jarar (50 years old) from Jenin. She is the wife of administrative detainee Abdul Jabbar Jarrar, who has been held under administrative detention since February 2024.
Wafa passed away this morning at Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin, succumbing to critical injuries sustained during her arrest on May 21, 2024. This was her first arrest, and she was the mother of four children.
The Commission and the Club stated that the occupation executed a compounded crime against her, beginning with the brutal arrest from her home, during which she was severely beaten and injured, leading to the amputation of her legs above the knee at "Afula" Hospital. She suffered multiple injuries to her body and was later placed under administrative detention for four months. Jarrar was released on May 30, but continued to suffer.
Thr occupation has not yet handed over the martyr Jarrar's amputated legs for burial according to Islamic law, despite filing requests to retrieve them after one of the doctors said they were "disposed of."
The occupation has also not responded to the request for her medical reports and to clarify what happened from May 27, 2024, the day she underwent below-knee amputation, to the subsequent above-knee amputation performed without her family's consent, as she was under anesthesia and on a ventilator.
