Thousands attended commander Ismail Haniyeh's funeral in Doha, Qatar today, after his body arrived from Tehran yesterday afternoon.

As Hamas head in the West Bank, Zaher Jabareen, led absentee prayers, thousands joined him across the world, from Indonesia to Lebanon and Gaza. By his side was PIJ Secretary-General Ziyad Al-Nakhaleh, with the Pakistani Prime Minister and Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in attendance; Al-Thani removed his egal on his head as a sign of respect.

Mourners chanted: "With our blood and with our souls, we will avenge you, O martyr."
"O Haniyeh, rest, rest. We will continue the struggle! Forward, forward, O Hamas! You are the cannon, and we are the bullets!"
"Only Hamas will open the doors of Al-Aqsa! Only Al-Qassam will open the doors of Al-Aqsa! Salute to the Al-Qassam Brigades!"

Khaled Meshal, who has assumed Haniyeh's position as the head of the Political Bureau, said about Haniyeh: "He lived among his people in Shati' Camp...He did not leave Gaza except to fight for his cause."

Deputy Head of Hamas in Gaza, Khalil Al-Hayya stated, "The blood of Abu Al-Abd will bring victory and honor."
