Meanwhile, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Al-Sudani urges calm, desperately reaching out to Iran to calm the factions that it has minimal bearing on. The deadline has ended, however, and the painful operations will return.
Sudani seeks to arrange a truce with the factions, who rejected his request to not target US interests after a several month pause. The factions no longer heed Al-Sudani's recommendations, stating clearly that the truce has ended.
The Iraqi factions have stated repeatedly, and again today, that they will join the battle with Hezbollah if the zionist enemy begins a war in the region. Sources confirmed to Al-Akhbar that Iraqi factions would launch precise strikes within the occupied Palestinian interior.
The spokesman for the Sayyed Al-Shuhada Brigades, Kazem Al-Fartousi, told Al-Akhbar: "All resistance resources will be mobilized for the benefit of the resistance in Lebanon if the zionist entity dares to launch an attack on the south or Beirut... Our position is unified in supporting the Palestinian cause and the Axis of Resistance militarily, in line with Hezbollah, confirming our full readiness in terms of equipment and personnel to support it." However, he noted that "Our presence and fighting alongside Hezbollah to repel any potential attack remains contingent on their approval, despite their significant capabilities to confront the entity."
Meanwhile, Nujaba Movemenet member Haidar Al-Lami affirmed that "the Iraqi resistance operates on the principle of unified response against the zionist entity to support the Palestinian cause and aid Lebanon." He added that the resistance has already studied plans, in coordination with the Yemeni resistance and Hezbollah, to strike vital targets in the Mediterranean, adding, "if the aggression on Gaza and southern Lebanon continues, there will be surprises against the enemy, as well as the possibility of expanding the scope of the battle if the entity takes malicious steps against Hezbollah." Commander Ismail Haniyeh dedicated his life to his religion, his cause, and his homeland. He lived as a militant, a skilled politician, a vibrant and active unionist, was imprisoned in the occupation's prisons, and moved from place to place. All this did not deter him for a moment from continuing on the path of serving his homeland, his cause, and his nation.
Today, as we take pride in our brother Commander Ismail Haniyeh, we envy him for his martyrdom. He met his fate while doing the best of deeds, under exceptional circumstances. However, we, our people, and our nation miss him. He has won martyrdom and paradise.
The Hamas movement and our Palestinian people, who have been riding the wave of resistance for 76 years in defense of their cause and homeland, will not stop the path of resistance. The martyrdom of a commander or ten, nor anything else will ever stop or deter us. The cycle of zionist crimes that has claimed many of our Palestinian leaders has only increased our people's resolve and perseverance. Hamas has been on this path, where dozens of its early leaders, led by the movement's founder Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, and the latest, but not the last, martyr Commander Ismail Haniyeh, have met their fate.
As painful as this event is, we bid farewell with great pride to our leader today and head of our movement. We assure our people, our nation, and our supporters that this painful and significant event was neither an intelligence operation nor a major achievement that the zionist enemy can boast about after committing their crime.
Brother Fighter Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau, was in communication and meeting moments before his martyrdom with visiting delegations, in a public place, a guest house in the Islamic Republic. He was not in a secret location nor away from the spotlight. Rather, he was on an official visit and hospitality, culminating in the dinner yesterday with all those who participated in the inauguration of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
Claims that this is an achievement for the occupation are baseless. Why did the enemy take this step? First, since the beginning of Al-Aqsa Flood, the enemy has tried to isolate the resistance and label it with many terms to isolate it globally. But they were surprised to see Commander Ismail Haniyeh moving through numerous global, Arab, and Islamic capitals, from Russia to Malaysia, Iran, Qatar, Egypt, Turkey, Lebanon, Algeria, Mauritania, and Morocco. The resistance movement and other movements that the Zionist enemy tried to label in various ways are active in these capitals, being welcomed by politicians here and there. This angered the occupation, especially the political event that Commander Ismail Haniyeh witnessed yesterday.
Commander Ismail Haniyeh was in the midst of a political event at the inauguration of the Iranian president, among dozens of international, Arab, and Muslim politicians. Haniyeh was at the center, warmly welcomed and photographed with everyone. This image invalidated the occupation’s claim that the resistance is isolated. We believe that this anger, which the occupation harbored, led them to act out suddenly.
The second reason is that this criminal, abhorrent, murderous occupation, which only succeeds in destruction and killing, is challenging the world today.
