Beijing Declaration: An Advanced Step to Arrange the Palestinian House, and Now the Need is to Build on It with Practical and Executive Measures
Comrade Jamil Mezher, Deputy Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, affirmed that the "Beijing Declaration," reached with Chinese efforts and sponsorship, is an advanced step to arrange the Palestinian house. It can constitute a new phase, with the objective now being to build on it with practical and executive measures.
The Deputy Secretary-General said, "This time we felt determination and seriousness to reach an agreement and overcome obstacles from all parties, in light of the ongoing zionist genocide war on Gaza Strip, the serious challenges facing the Palestinian cause, and the escalating zionist actions on the ground in the West Bank and Al-Quds."
He added that the Popular Front made tremendous efforts during the round of dialogue to reach this national agreement, seeing a glimmer of hope and a strong opportunity to move forward in its implementation. He stressed that the agreement represents the achievement of a national strategy, and success in setting a specific timetable and procedures for implementation will enable us to achieve this agreement by learning from past experiences.
The Deputy Secretary-General emphasized that everyone discussed all important issues with great responsibility and reached an agreement that contributes to arranging the Palestinian house and forming a national consensus government tasked with reconstruction and paving the way for comprehensive elections. He continued, "But before all that, everyone in a unified national position insisted on a complete cessation of aggression and a total withdrawal from Gaza Strip, reconstruction, and the unconditional return of the displaced, in addition to moving at all levels to end the suffering of prisoners, which escalated after October 7."
He added that the agreement affirmed our people's right to resist by all means, a crucial and pivotal point in this agreement, indicating an unprecedented national consensus on this option in many years, a significant national rallying factor.
The Deputy Secretary-General stressed that the Popular Front is fully convinced that successful implementation on the ground requires two important things: first, genuine political will from all parties to implement what was agreed upon without any obstacles or procrastination, and second, resistance to zionist and American pressures, especially from the [Palestinian] Authority, to proceed with this national agreement.
He pointed out that there are a number of obstacles that will confront the agreement, stressing that our people have no choice but to unitedly confront these threats. The blood of martyrs and the great sacrifices our people are making should be the main drive to move forward in implementing the agreement through serious implementation mechanisms on the ground.
He said, "Indeed, past experiences have been bitter regarding the implementation of what was agreed upon in Palestinian dialogue rounds on the ground; however, there is significant national consensus on fundamental and strategic issues that cannot be bypassed or lowered, and in our view, this time we must not fail because failure means the occupation's success in achieving its political goals on the ground."

Fakhri has been detained for 16 days. The PA had initially planned to extend his detention until November 5th. He will be released under a 3000 dinars bail (approximately 4,233 US dollars).
Both Fakhri and activist Ghassan Al-Saadi have previously announced open-ended hunger strikes in the PA's prisons after being detained.
Ghassan remains detained for the 9th day.
