The statement by Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Lebanese Hezbollah, against the Republic of Cyprus, unfortunately, is not without basis and does not stem from any prejudice.

The statement by the Hezbollah leader is the result of the ongoing stance taken by the Cypriot government, which has unreservedly supported "israel" by all means since the first day of the war.

The fact that the British bases in Cyprus are a stronghold against the people of Palestine and Yemen, and all the peoples targeted by the murderous NATO alliance, is known to everyone.

We call on the government to stop cooperating with "israel," as Cyprus is directly involved in the massacre in Gaza.

Cyprus provides facilities for "israel," with the use of airports and ports, and military training of the "israeli" army on our land.

The cooperation between "israel" and Cyprus is well known, and one does not need the statements of the Hezbollah leader to know what is happening.

We will work to disengage our country from the massacre in Palestine, the imperialist interventions, and to close all death bases and withdraw all foreign armies.

Sirens in Cyprus: Why did Hezbollah threaten Cyprus?

In Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's most recent speech, he issued a threat against Cyprus, marking the first time that Hezbollah threatened an entity besides "israel" or the US.

This threat did not come out nowhere, but is rooted in long-standing cooperation between Cyprus and the zionist entity, such as several joint military exercises since 2014 in support of the entity's military actions.

In 2017, 700 IOF soldiers trained in the Troodos mountains in Cyprus, which are "similar to Lebanese terrain." A 2022 exercise saw the IOF run exercises in Cyprus simulating a ground attack on Lebanon; this included soldiers from naval units and the 98th Division, which participated in the Nusseirat massacre and withdrew from Gaza two weeks ago. In May 2023, the IOF again conducted exercises in Cyprus to simulate an attack on Lebanon. All of this is well documented in zionist media, whose military experts stated in 2019 that "Cyprus is a copy of Lebanon: mountains, plants, and the necessity of working between civilians." Cypriot military leaders have also visited occupied Palestine to meet with soldiers and conduct trainings.

A large-scale IOF attack on Lebanon would likely involve a naval landing operation on Lebanon's shores launched from Cyprus, coinciding with a ground and air aggression.

Further, Cyprus serves as a launching pad for imperialist aggression against the region. There are two British military bases on Cyprus, which occupy 3% of the island. These bases are 185 and 240 kilometers from Beirut, closer than the zionist entity's "Dimona" nuclear facility in southern occupied Palestine and well within the range of Hezbollah's precision missiles.

As of May 8th, the British military has flown over 200 spy missions over Gaza in support of the zionist entity. Presumably, all of these missions took off from the Cyprus bases.

Nasrallah's threat coincided with a visit by a Cypriot intelligence delegation to Beirut to discuss immigration. Following the speech, the delegation quickly pivoted to meet with Lebanon's General Directorate of General Security, to assert that Cyprus would not permit its territory to be used to threaten Lebanon. However, the two British bases on Cyprus are completely under British control, and not considered Cypriot territory.

Hezbollah's stance is backed by popular calls within Cyprus to sever cooperation with the zionist entity, withdraw from imperialist interventions, and close foreign military bases on the island, underscoring deep opposition to Cyprus' complicity in imperialist aggression in the region.

Thus, Hezbollah's threat against Cyprus is a direct response to its cooperation with the zionist entity and its role in facilitating imperialist military actions in the region. The critical question is: Who is the aggressor? The entity that offers its land and airspace to a genocidal military for increased aggression, or the nation rising in defense of Palestine and firmly asserting its sovereignty? It becomes clear that the warning was an obligation, not a choice, in the face of Cyprus' actions threatening regional stability and the zionist entity dragging it into matters that do not concern it, jeopardizing its own security.

Mousa Hjeij has ascended to martyrdom after succumbing to injuries sustained in the IOF airstrike carried on Al-Borgholiya in southern Lebanon a week ago.

Abu Marzouk meets Bogdanov in Moscow.

Dr. Mousa Abu Marzouk, head of the International Relations Office of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), met with Mikhail Bogdanov, the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and African countries and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moscow, on Monday evening.

Abu Marzouk informed the Russian side about the systematic genocide war against our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, the "israeli" plans to annex the West Bank and Al-Quds, and the blatant "israeli" violations against Palestinian prisoners and detainees inside Israeli prisons.

Abu Marzouk confirmed that the position of the movement and the resistance factions is in line with the principles included in the Security Council resolution for a ceasefire, which are the complete "israeli" withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, a permanent ceasefire, urgent humanitarian relief, the return of displaced people to their homes, the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, and a prisoner exchange deal.

There was an in-depth exchange of views on political and field developments and the overall situation of the Palestinian cause, efforts to stop the genocide aggression against our people, efforts for Palestinian unity, and bridging the internal Palestinian divide. Abu Marzouk expressed his appreciation for the Russian efforts aimed at enhancing stability in the region.

🚨 The Palestinian Prisoner's Club stated that the occupation continues to escalate the arrest operations of children as part of the escalating arrest campaigns since the start of the genocide war. Since yesterday, the occupation has arrested at least seven children from the West Bank, including two brothers.

The occupation military court extended the detention of three children from Beit Ummar, #AlKhalil: Wadie Sami Awad (14 years old), Reda Sami Awad (13 years old), both brothers, and Oday Raed Awad (14 years old) until tomorrow, Tuesday, to complete the investigation. The occupation forces arrested them early yesterday after raiding their homes and carrying out extensive vandalism and destruction inside the homes.

The Prisoner's Club noted that the child Oday suffers from asthma and thyroid problems, and that the occupation forces severely beat him during his arrest.

Meanwhile, the occupation forces arrested the wounded child Mohammed Munther Al-Za'aqiq (12 years old) early this morning from the town of Beit Ummar, which has recently witnessed intense arrest operations targeting children. The child Al-Za'aqiq was injured in the thigh last week and cannot walk; he requires close medical follow-up.

The occupation holds about 250 children in its prisons, including sick and wounded children, who are subjected to extremely dangerous and tragic detention conditions, constituting a crime against them, especially with all the retaliatory measures imposed on prisoners since the start of the genocide war.

All the abusive and retaliatory measures, including torture and beating, escalated by the occupation prison administration and its repressive forces against prisoners since the start of the genocide war, have also targeted child prisoners, in addition to the severe violations they are subjected to during their arrest and interrogation.

Since the start of the genocide war, at least 650 cases of child arrests have been recorded.
