The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command in Gaza mourns the martyr comrade Zaki Musa Al-Zayti, who passed away yesterday after suffering from an illness that afflicted him for months following the criminal war on Gaza.

Our martyr comrade, in full health, fled with his family from northern Gaza to the south, where he contracted hepatitis. His condition quickly worsened due to the lack of necessary medical equipment and supplies caused by the unjust zionist siege on the Gaza Strip.

The martyr comrade participated in many popular and national events supporting the struggles of our Palestinian people. His comrades testify to his good conduct and reputation during his organizational life.

As we mourn our martyr comrade in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command, we affirm that the successive zionist crimes against our people and the compounded war crimes committed by its defeated army – from displacement and destruction of residential areas, infrastructure, and health facilities, to the systematic targeting of medical personnel through assassination and arrest, preventing patients from traveling for treatment, and hindering the arrival of aid, especially medical aid – are violations aimed at undermining the resolve of our people and their resistance.

The occupation's massacres in Al-Shati, Al-Tuffah, and Rafah are a stain on the forehead of humanity and reflect the occupation's state of confusion and bankruptcy.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine affirms that the ascension of dozens of martyrs and wounded in two new massacres by the occupation today in Al-Shati Camp and Al-Tuffah neighborhood in Gaza City, and prior to that, yesterday's targeting of tents sheltering displaced persons in the Al-Mawasi area west of Rafah, are new zionist war crimes committed in full view of the world. This is despite the occupation's declaration that these areas are safe.

The perpetration of these massacres against entire residential blocks or the targeting of unarmed displaced persons, and the continued systematic destruction of infrastructure and the burning and destruction of thousands of homes, reflects the bankruptcy and confusion the occupation has reached due to the escalation of resistance operations in the Strip and the precise and qualitative strikes they have been subjected to.

These cowardly and retaliatory massacres against safe civilians in their homes and displaced persons, most of whom are children, women, and the elderly, are a stain on the forehead of humanity and a curse that will haunt the zionist killers and their accomplices everywhere.

These ongoing zionist crimes in the Strip will not change the reality on the ground. Regarding the commencement of high school examinations in Palestine amidst the deprivation of Gaza students due to the zionist war on the Strip.

Today, Saturday, June 22, the first round of high school examinations (tawjihi) for the academic year 2023/2024 begins, while more than 800,000 students from various educational stages in the Gaza Strip are deprived of their right to education since October 7, 2023, due to the genocidal war waged by the criminal zionist occupation on the Gaza Strip. Among them are 40,000 high school students from various branches who will not be able to join this round of high school examinations, representing a serious precedent and violation that threatens their future and undermines their opportunities to join local and international universities and colleges.

Since the beginning of this war, the zionist occupation has deliberately targeted children, women, and civilians; tens of thousands have been martyred, injured, and detained, including thousands of students and education workers. More than 85% of educational facilities have gone out of service due to direct and intentional targeting, posing a significant challenge to efforts to resume the educational process after the war ends.

The ministry wishes success to its students participating in this round of high school examinations, whether in Al-Quds, the northern governorates, or those residing abroad. It confirms its commitment to holding a special round for Gaza students when circumstances permit, ensuring the safety of students and workers.

The ministry also confirms that it has put in place necessary plans to compensate for the academic year 2023/2024 for students from first to eleventh grades and higher education students, ensuring that the academic year is not lost and that they possess the essential concepts and skills necessary for their continued learning.

🚨 A building used by IOF soldiers in the “Metulla” settlement near the Lebanese-Palestinian border was struck with guided missiles, starting a fire in the settlement (media). IOF sites the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms and the "Ramim" barracks in northeastern occupied Palestine were also targeted moments ago with rockets and mortar shells.

🚨🇮🇶 Sources in the Islamic Resistance in Iraq told Al-Akhbar that Kataeb Hezbollah in Iraq and the Nujaba Movement have declared their readiness to participate alongside Hezbollah in Lebanon, if it agrees, in facing any potential zionist aggression against Lebanon.

The sources indicated that these two factions made this stance known during a meeting between Iraqi resistance factions and the Acting Iranian Foreign Minister, Ali Bagheri Kani, who visited Iraq before Eid al-Adha. The sources noted that Kani was cautious about the participation of Iraqi factions, in order to avoid expanding the theater of war in the region at this time.

Meanwhile, the spokesman for the Sayyed Al-Shuhada Brigades, Kazem Al-Fartousi, confirms that "Hezbollah has high capabilities, full preparedness, qualitative armament, and large numbers of fighters, all of which are sufficient to repel the largest aggression regardless of the enemy's capabilities." He added, "Nevertheless, if it becomes necessary for the fighters from Iraq to be present in southern Lebanon, we will be at the forefront in confronting the zionist aggression, as this is an Islamic and Arab cause that transcends all particularities and borders."

It is noteworthy that the US carried out an attack against the Iraqi factions this week, where martyr Abdullah Al-Safi of the Sayyed Al-Shuhada Brigades ascended on the Syrian-Iraqi border.

In a recent meeting, the Iraqi resistance factions discussed the end of the truce period that they granted four months ago to the American forces, at which point they halted operations against US bases. They are waiting for the results of the American-Iraqi talks on the withdrawal of those forces from the country. The sources pointed out that the attendees talked about a tendency to break this truce due to Washington's insistence on keeping its forces in Iraq, especially after the statements of President Joe Biden's nominee for the position of US ambassador to Baghdad, Tracy Ann Jacobson, which the Iraqi government and political forces considered interference in the country's affairs.

Kazem Al-Fartousi confirms that "the Iraqi resistance looks at the interest and the circumstances in which it operates, and therefore whenever there is an interest in confronting the Americans at this time or another, it will decide that on its own will." He told Al-Akhbar that "there is a deadline for the Iraqi negotiation committee with the United States, and so far the people have not been informed of the results of these negotiations, whether they have ended or stopped. Therefore, after the specified deadline, it will be up to the resistance."

He also confirmed, "We will be ready to respond to any American aggression or disregard for Iraqi sovereignty and blood," considering that "the statements of Washington's nominee were interference in Iraqi affairs and disregard," adding that "the nominated ambassador is laying the groundwork for a process that is neither diplomatic nor based on respecting Iraqi sovereignty." Seeking to reject her appointment, he stated: "We will not care about her and her statements, just as we did not care about others before her."
