Imad Fayez Mughniyeh, the "untraceable ghost" that terrified the occupation. Martyred on this day in 2008 by a car bomb following several attempted assassinations by the CIA and Mossad, today we remember the martyr Hajj Imad for all that he sacrificed for the sake of liberation and resistance.
It is impossible to describe in just a few sentences all that Hajj Imad offered to the regional resistance. The extensive tunnel network under Gaza was reportedly his and Hajj Qassem Soleimani's idea. Hajj Imad would sneak in and out of Gaza from Lebanon without detection, confusing the enemy entity. He, despite being Hezbollah's second in command, sacrificed his time and efforts in order to organize the Palestinian resistance, providing them with military strategy, training, weaponry, and information during the Intifadas.
Hajj Imad had a deep relationship with Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, protecting him and guiding him. Jawad Nasrallah said, "If Sayyed was the candle, Hajj Imad was the butterfly flying around it, protecting it from even the lightest breeze." Both of their sons, Jihad and Hadi, were martyred. From Hezbollah's inception, Hajj Imad commanded some of the most notable resistance operations, including the Beirut barracks bombings which killed 300 US and French military members.
Former PIJ head Ramadan Shallah recalls, "I don't remember a time when Hajj Imad refused a request for the resistance. If you told him his coat was nice, he would take it off and give it to you. He was a natural leader, able to manage 100 tasks without failing any. Imad Mughniyeh restored the Palestinian cause as an Arab and Islamic cause. His fingerprints are on every missile and bullet in Palestine."
Al-Akhbar editor-in-chief Ibrahim Al-Amin said, "Hajj Imad never worked on or supported any issue unless it led directly to Palestine."
This is evidenced by Hajj Imad's actions alone, but we can look to his most famous words: "The goal is clear, specific, and precise—the removal of 'israel' from existence."

Palestinian teachers on strike against comprador PA policies! Thousands of teachers have taken to the streets in Al-Khalil, Nablus, Jenin, Ramallah and Tulkarem following weeks of strike in protest of their underpay and exploitation by the "Authority."
The PA reneged on its agreement with the teachers following last year's strike, failing to provide the teachers with their full salaries and bonuses. The PA also prevents them from organizing.
Meanwhile, while the PA refuses teacher's their rightful dignity, it hires dozens of new diplomats at its normalizing, comprador embassies. Fatah, which heads the PA, called for the teachers to "adhere to school attendance and not to be drawn into politicized calls aimed at striking national immunity and creating confusion."
"We care about our students' interests, but how do we lecture when debts weigh us down?! When we worry about our families' security?" said a teacher in Ramallah.
The teachers will continue their strike until their demands are met, including a restoration of the previous agreement and a formal representative organization. We stand with the teachers movement until their demands are met and their rights granted.
