But if we force open the gates of the university, share our struggles, understand we have a common enemy and build our respective capacities to fight them on and off the campus — the universities are ours for the taking.

🚨 Students at University of New Mexico have occupied the Student Union Building on the 8th day of the ongoing Gaza Solidarity Encampment on campus.
The statement of the solidarity camp:
"Be Brave! Palestinians in Gaza have already extended gratitude for our actions; in one case, naming the UNM solidarity encampment specifically.
We have seen how actions of students, faculty, employees, and community on campuses have electrified the hope of people in Gaza. We are on the right side of history. In many ways, it almost feels worth it up to this point.
However, since we have been welcomed into the resistance, it's up to us to decide how we will see this through.
How will we escalate for Gaza? How will we stop this genocide?
While it feels overwhelming, we are not alone, and we are stepping into the role as the generation that will Free Palestine. Will you be able to say that during this critical moment in history that has shaped heroes and martyrs that you stood up with the people?
Do not feel you have to be brave alone! Find us and feel your bravery expand in community."
"The encampment was formed autonomously by individuals brought together by affinity and has grownorganically. There are no leaders. There were no formal written demands on UNM administration before the first tents were placed at the duck pond. It is built on the acceptance of a diversityof tactics. The camp's existence alone stands with the sweeping wildfire ofGaza solidarity encampments across the country and globe as well as against interlocking systems of oppression that embolden Israel's genocide of Gaza: settler-colonialism, racism, imperialism, fascism, capitalism, etc. in which UNM plays a part via its investments and relationships.
Since the camp's formation, diverse groups have provided support and materialresources while individuals havebroken out into informal and fluid committees taking charge of issues necessary for the camp to function and leverage demands."

🚨 Confrontations have erupted during the IOF’s storming of Tariq Bin Ziyad in southern #AlKhalil.
🚨 Student occupiers at Virginia Commonwealth University repelled the assault of Virginia State Police who violently assaulted their encampment.
Watch as the students flank the police, utilizing barricades to repel them as the police begin spraying mace onto the crowd. The students resist with the means they have: barricades and projectiles.
The Field Guide to the VCU Liberated Zone states: "There can be no consequential action that does not accept risk."
This violent reaction by the state comes on just the first day of the encampment. However, students mitigated the number of arrests, supported each other, and mobilized hundreds to the location. Despite a number of injuries and arrests, the encampment continues.

In solidarity with Gaza and Palestine, protests break out across universities in Lebanon, calling for an end to the genocide.
A student sit-in is taking place at the Beirut Arab Univeristy in Tripoli, while students are protesting at the American University of Beirut (AUB) and in Sour.
Al-Mayadeen reported that students were prevented from protesting at AUB, and other sources reported that pro-resistance news outlets were prevented from stepping foot on the campus.
The students chant:
"Intifada and victory; the decision came from Gaza! We want to break the siege! Unity, Arab unity; Muslim and Christian!"
At AUB, they chanted: "To Al-Quds we are headed! Martyrs by the millions!"
"Put the sword against the sword! We are the men of Mohammed Deif!"
"Put the bullet in the chamber! Resistance is our choice!"
AUB students are demanding from AUB administration financial transparency and a boycott of companies complicit in genocide. They call for an US-backed zionist genocide on Palestine and the aggression on Lebanon, demanding liberation from the river to the sea.
