GOOD MORNING. We held it down for another cold cold night. But we are fine and we are safe- unlike our siblings in Gaza who are facing Israel’s US-backed genocide and eight decades of colonial occupation. We hold it down for them. We won’t rest until UConn divests and refuses complicity in Israel’s slaughter. For now, campers, drink some water, eat some food, and review our camp norms and safety guidelines above. We stay smart, focused, and determined in the fight for a free Palestine, from the river to the sea.

We warn against any international body overseeing the work of UNRWA as an alternative to the United Nations.
We have followed with interest and concern the report issued by the committee appointed by the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, chaired by former French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna, to review the neutrality of UNRWA, which refuted the claims of the occupation that attempted through it to tarnish the work of the international agency.
However, in the content of the report, which is 54 pages long, we stop at a group of precautions and risks, which aim to empty the work of UNRWA and form international bodies as alternatives to the United Nations in their follow-up and supervision, in an attempt to target their political dimension, in the context of the malicious plans that aim to end its work as a political witness to the Palestinian Nakba.
- The report called for the establishment of an international body to oversee UNRWA's work from outside, which constitutes in itself a political targeting par excellence, paving the way for wresting responsibility from the United Nations General Assembly, as it replaces the UNRWA Advisory Committee formed from 28 countries and 3 observer members.
- The report calls for stripping the responsibility of the unions of employees working in the scope of UNRWA's operations in the five areas, on the grounds that they are politicized, a serious accusation that entails numerous risks in terms of trying to strike the relationship between employees and management, deepening the differences between them, and blatant interference in the work of the international institution that the report calls for its neutrality and non-interference in its affairs.
- The call of the report for partnership with other institutions with UNRWA is another attempt to empty and dilute its work, especially with the practical replacement of its relief services in the sector, without enhancing the role of UNRWA, which has led to the weakening of its provided services.
- We are surprised that while the report calls for the neutrality of UNRWA's facilities, it did not mention—near or far—the targeting by the occupation of 160 of its headquarters, the martyrdom of 180 of its employees, nor did it touch on the field executions and the horrendous targeting of the displaced in its schools, not least of which is the Al-Fakhoura massacre in Jabalia that was repeated in several massacres committed by the occupation at various stages of its aggression.
- We also record our surprise at the former French minister's mention of the educational curricula taught by UNRWA, and her call for reviewing what she calls issues within the curricula that do not adhere to neutrality, despite the work and through various committees to study 157 textbooks taught in its schools, some of which were amended, and now the former minister sees the description of Al-Quds as the capital of our Palestinian people as a description that promotes hatred, even though it intersects with United Nations resolutions that recognize our people's right to establish its state and its capital in Al-Quds, and yet many Western countries still refuse to move their embassy there after Washington recognized it as the alleged capital of the entity.

- Finally, we stop with great astonishment at the despicable double standards of the world, which see a true and noble right for the Ukrainian employee working at the United Nations to express his opinion on the war in his country, while it is seen as biased against the Palestinian employee who expresses his right, especially since UNRWA was originally formed in the context of the repercussions of the historic aggression that sought his genocide and expulsion from his land. We see this double standard as another face of the hypocrisy used by some international parties in the war of genocide that the Gaza Strip is undergoing, and sadly involving some of them in supporting and participating in this war, especially the position embodied by Washington and some of its allies.
- We renew our call to all international parties that have refrained from supporting UNRWA to stand before their responsibilities towards what our Palestinian people are undergoing from a war of genocide, and we affirm that all attempts aimed at erasing any address of our cause in Al-Quds, the Nakba, or the land, will only lead to igniting more fires towards global security and peace, and peace has not been achieved at any moment.
