As soon as the press conference ended—about three hours into the encampment—and before the press had even left GSP and APD ambushed students, most of whom were just beginning to get into march formation because they knew police were staging. This came after the police had approached the encampment three times with about five officers—each time students quickly formed lines and shouted them off the lawn, except the third time when students swarmed them.
A student was tased, many were tackled and arrested, word is that at least one tenured faculty member was detained and possibly arrested. Many attempts at dearrest. As they were firing pepper balls at people’s faces and bodies, students courageously locked arms and moved in groups of 10-25 students even while choking and gagging on pepper spray, chanting “Don’t Panic, Stay Tight! We’re gonna be alright.”

The warning issued by the Ministry of Health in Gaza regarding the severe shortage of fuel supplies for hospitals, which threatens a total electricity outage, endangering the lives of thousands of patients and wounded, necessitates immediate international and United Nations intervention to pressure the fascist occupation to lift its criminal siege that affects all aspects of life in Gaza, including hospitals, and to urgently allow the entry of necessary supplies such as fuel, medicines, and medical equipment.
Since the first day of the aggression, the criminal zionist enemy has targeted hospitals and medical centers in the Gaza Strip, now hindering all attempts to restart and supply them with their needs, after having targeted most of them and put them out of service. This is part of the genocide war waged against civilians in Gaza with the aim of displacing them from their land, in full view and hearing of the world, which remains inactive in the face of this brutal barbarity. It is time for this unjust policy to end immediately.
