"Freedom for political prisoners in the prisons of 'israel' and in the Arab world." A flower bends the bars of the prison cell. (December 1979)

In the second drawing, read from right to left, the good man is visited by Handala, who offers him a flower. The flower grows, breaking through the walls of the prison. #NajisAugust

194 days have passed since the beginning of Al-Aqsa Flood. Over 6 months of unyielding resistance and painful massacres, Gaza, heart of the nation, stands tall in the face of the occupier.

Half a year in, it is vital not to lose sight of the battle's goal amidst the daily massacres.

When the resistance launched its operation, and thousands of rockets illuminated the sky of Palestine, what we heard was: I reclaim my land.

However, the resistance did not declare it as the war of liberation. As our fighters, the children of Palestine, returned to the lands they and their ancestors were forbidden from entering, the resistance said: our prisoners.

Our prisoners. Our fathers, our mothers, our brothers, our sisters, and our children. The fighter, the farmer, the worker, the sick, and the wounded. Those who are behind bars, often without charge nor trial, with the ability to lead, organize, and mobilize.

Our resistance declared: Freedom for our prisoners, for their freedom is tantamount to the liberation of the land. Deep-rooted, unremovable, inherent.

Hamas leader Omar Barghouti, both father of a martyr and of a prisoner, and brother of prisoner Nael Barghouti, once stood in Ramallah shouting, "If the the prisoner is lost, the nation is lost."

The resistance heard this call. Long understood, it has prepared for years to respond to it. On the 7th of October, it imposed our cause on the world again, writing with bullets and blood that the liberation of the land first passes through the liberation of our prisoners.

Thus, RNN Prisoners is introducing a new series to introduce you to our heroes behind bars, those who are more free than us all. Starting tomorrow, we will be sharing profiles of our captive leaders from across the Palestinian spectrum so that you may get to know them.
🚨 Missile sirens ring in “Metulla” in northeast occupied Palestine.

From Liberated Texts, read Ghina Abi Ghannam's review of martyred leader Walid Daqqah's book, "Searing Consciousness (Or on Redefining Torture)," where Walid writes about the zionist war on prisoners and consciousness as a microcosm of the war on all Palestinian peoples, released today on Palestinian Prisoners' Day.

https://liberatedtexts.com/reviews/naming-israels-psychological-war-on-the-palestinians-walid-daqqas-searing-consciousness-or-on-redefining-torture/

"Walid tells us that the one condition consolidating all Palestinians, in exile, in prisons, and in occupied land is a condition of yearning. A yearning not to a past that Palestinians once had recorded in collective memories, but to a future that their collective imaginary is fixated on, a future of return and liberation."
🚨 Egyptian sources revealed that the Biden administration has greenlit an invasion of Rafah in exchange for the zionist entity not carrying out a large-scale attack on Iran.

The sources added that the IOF plans a gradual attack on Rafah, in which thousands will likely be displaced again.

Egypt seeks to postpone or cancel the Rafah operation through negotiation. It should be noted that zionist sources reported earlier this week that the Rafah invasion was set to begin a few days ago, but was forcibly postponed as a result of the Iranian attack on IOF bases on April 14th.

Egypt reportedly set conditions for the invasion: evacuating civilians and keeping the crossings open. Egypt has also increased the readiness of its forces across the 14km border strip with Gaza since Monday.
🚨 BREAKING: For nearly 24 hours, students have occupied space on the Columbia University lawn in New York City, creating a liberated zone in support of Palestine titled the "Gaza Solidarity Encampment."

Three simultaneous protests (two solidarity protests) are taking place now following the beginning of the occupation that began at 4 AM yesterday, standing against genocide and demanding their university divest from the zionist entity.

The encampment will not stop until the demands are met: divestment of all Columbia finances from companies and institutions that profit from genocide or occupation and transparency on financial investments.

The University gave the students until 9PM to evacuate. Currently, at 2AM, 400 students are still occupying the lawn, with a large number of police officers waiting to move in. A number of protestors have been arrested so far.

In January, a number of pro-Palestinian Columbia students were sprayed with an unknown chemical substance by former IOF soldiers, without acknowledgement by the University, which has deep ties to the zionist entity with its $14 billion endowment.

Students are praying, chanting, and affirmed that they will not leave until their demands are met. They are providing food for each other and have formed a human chain around the encampment. "Let go! Divest! We will not leave! We will not rest!"

Students are calling all those who are able to head to the encampment now. Follow https://t.me/cuadencampment for ongoing updates.

The Wrath of Aida Strikes in Al-Quds

On this day in 2016, a determined Palestinian youth chose martyrdom as his certificate, catching up with the martyrs before him before completing high school.

Today, we commemorate the heroic martyr Abdulhamid Abu Srour, who at 19 struck fear in the hearts of all settlers with his righteous act of resistance.

On the day of the operation Abdulhamid, from Aida Refugee Camp in Bethlehem, managed to pass dozens of colonial checkpoints and enjoyed the streets of our blessed capital Al-Quds before reaching his target: Egged bus #12. In a scene not seen in years reminiscent of the operations engineered by the martyr Yahya Ayyash, Abu Srour boarded onto the bus and planted a homemade explosive device, injuring 21 settlers, 2 seriously and 7 moderately. Two days later, our hero ascended to martyrdom.

Abdulhamid’s body remains at the hands of the zionist usurper in the so-called Cemetery of Numbers. His mother has been waiting at the edge of an empty grave ever since, waiting for the day she gets to bury her son with dignity.

Azhar Abu Srour, Abdulhamid’s mother said, "We dug a grave for my son after his martyrdom in the camp cemetery, and next to the grave there is a flagpole for the Palestinian flag and a monument for the camp’s martyrs. We constantly go to visit the grave and work to clean its surroundings and renew the flagpole erected next to it."

Abdulhamid was described as a bomb of kindness and mercy, respectful of his elders and gentle with the young. He was easy-going and committed to his noble religion of Islam. Coming from a line of martyrs, Abdulhamid chose to follow in those honorable footsteps, never straying from the path to martyrdom or victory.

Glory to the martyrs!
