It targeted the American and British presence in the Red Sea and extended to military targets in the Gulf of Aden. 🚨 The Palestinian Authority, the US, and the IOF are united in their stance opposing the release of Palestinian prisoner and leader Marwan Barghouti, private sources told Arabi21.
Marwan, a member of Fatah's Central Committee and founder of Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, has been imprisoned for over 20 years due to his role in the first and second intifadas.
Barghouti enjoys overwhelming support in simulating polling, beating out every candidate. As such, his name has appeared at the top of lists for a potential prisoner exchange.
While the US and zionist entity's reasons for not wanting to release him nor include him in a prisoner exchange deal are obvious, the reasons for Fatah's Palestinian Authority are less so. Mahmoud Abbas believes that releasing the pro-resistance Barghouti will cause a split within Fatah, undermining his position as president and control over the PA.
It should be noted that Barghouti has been subjected to repeated transfers, isolations, and beatings since October 7th. In the second week of March, he was assaulted twice in isolation until his eyes bled.
