Today, the spring equinox, is Mother’s Day in our Arab World.

Happy Mother’s Day to the mothers of Palestine.
Happy Mother’s Day to the mothers of the wounded. May healing overflow you.
Happy Mother’s Day to the mothers of the prisoners. May freedom bloom over you.
Happy Mother’s Day to the mothers of the martyrs. These are the mothers without whom hope would not be possible.

We honor the women who raised their children to become bearers of the flags of liberation. Here’s to the mothers who carry their children twice: once in their wombs, bringing them to life, and once on their shoulders after their martyrdom. The mothers who ululate during funerals, exalting their children just like on a wedding day. The mothers who watered the soil of the homeland with the blood of their most precious ones, oftentimes more than once. The mothers raising bloodstained rifles.

Here’s to the mothers beneath whose feet Heavens lie.

We honor the mothers who taught their children to be the pride of the nation, carrying on their shoulders the weight of fighting the zionist killing machine, on behalf of the whole world. The mothers whose children are in the battle fields, advancing forward, never retreating no matter the sacrifices. The mothers who bore all kinds of pain and still refuse but to stand tall like mountains. History will write that when the world besieged Gaza, her mothers nursed the homeland dignity, under the most dire circumstances, until the near victory broke through.

To the pride of our nation and the crowns of our heads: We kiss your noble hands and hope that with each passing day, we may be worthy of the sacrifices you’ve made for us, despite knowing very well that we may never be. Until then, we’ll keep chanting, with each rising martyr:

يأمّ الشهيد نيّالك،
يا ريت إمّي بدالك

“O mother of the martyr, I envy you! I wish my mother was in your place!”

"Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their wealth in exchange for Paradise. They fight in the cause of Allah, so they kill and are killed."

O masses of our heroic people... O sons of the city of Jenin and its steadfast camp:

With all the signs of faith in Allah Almighty, and with the pride of the believers who are confident in Allah’s victory and relief, and with the pride of the fighters holding the embers of religion and homeland, steadfast on the frontiers of the beloved homeland, devoting their work, jihad, life, and death to Allah, Lord of the worlds.

Saraya Al-Quds - Jenin Brigade, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, exalts to you, our great people and the entire nation:

Commander-in-Chief of Saraya Al-Quds in the West Bank, and commander of the Jenin Brigade, and responsible for a number of military operations that caused deaths and injuries among the enemy’s ranks.

The martyr, the fighter leader: Mohammed Mamoun Al-Hawashin (Abu Shadi).

He ascended as a result of his injury after being subjected to a cowardly assassination by bombing his vehicle along with his companions, the martyr Ahmed Barakat, the martyr Mohammed Al-Fayed, and the martyr Mahmoud Rahal.

Our martyr leader was one of the men who remained true to their covenant with Allah, so Allah rewarded him with the best reward.

You were the best leader, the best fighter, and a role model of courage and bravery.

Let the enemy know that his assassination of our leaders will only increase our persistence and determination to remain on this path.
We have prepared for you, God willing, what will shame your faces and heal the hearts of a believing people.

Our jihad continues, and our weapons are drawn in all arenas.

Indeed, it is a jihad of victory or martyrdom.
