Sparks accrued, exploding, setting alight Palestinian earth under the feet of settlers.

The Knife Intifada had begun. In a few months, 38 settlers were killed in 211 stabbing operations, 83 shooting operations, and 42 run-over operations. 500 settlers were wounded. At its peak, there were three operations per day.

The knife was the symbol of the mass popular uprising taking place. It was the common weapon that anybody could obtain, the greatest expression of a rising people. An astounding 25% of the operations took place in Al-Quds, and so this intifada is also known as the Al-Quds uprising, but operations took place all over the homeland, including the interior. 235 Palestinians were martyred across the homeland.

The period was characterized by these "lone wolf" attacks, borne out of the revolutionary anger of the masses in response to the violations of their land and sanctities. This coordinated stochasticity—organized spontaneity, in Basil's words—terrified the settler population. Over 75% of them felt unsafe at the time.

The response was certain to come before it began. Al-Quds rose in defense of the homeland, and it will rise again, spearheaded by the revolutionary youth.

These events are reminders of our collective unhealed wounds, desecration of sanctities, loss of life, which demands a forceful response. The Knife Intifada was one such response, a symbol of resistance by youth who took matters into their own hands, the blade the emblem of their protest. It was not an isolated set of incidents, but a reflection of collective sentiment, a culmination of suppressed frustration. When it rises, our people explode.

Glory to the martyrs of the Knife Intifada, who inspire resistance on their path. Glory to those who refuse to accept humiliation!

Muntasir Eid left his home to bring food back to his family in the northern #Gaza Strip. He walked to the Kuwait Roundabout, where aid is delivered. Muntasir did not return, so brother went to go look for him. He found Muntasir martyred as a result of an IOF sniper's bullet as he and others searched for food.

The IOF has repeatedly targeted Palestinians waiting to get aid at the Kuwaiti and Al-Nabulsi roundabouts, such that they have become death traps for those trying to alleviate their family's hunger.

Mustafa Mohammed Alo, a Syrian worker, ascended to martyrdom as a result of the IOF's drone strike targeting Hamas leader Hadi Mustafa in Sour, southern Lebanon earlier today.
