Zionist ex-minister of "defense" Moshe Dayan once said, "We control Gaza by day, and Guevara controls it by night."
Today, we remember Guevara of Gaza, Mohammed Al-Aswad, on the 51st anniversary of his martyrdom.
Born in Haifa in 1946, Guevara joined the Arab Nationalist Movement as a youth before later joining Al-Sa'iqa and then the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in its early years. When he was 13 years old, the Argentinian revolutionary Che Guevara visited the Gaza Strip, touring several refugee camps.
After carrying out many armed operations, zionist forces imprisoned Mohammed in 1968 and released him in July 1970. They did not know that Mohammed was the famous "Guevara" that all talked about at the time. Training and educating fighters, he was the commander of the PFLP in Gaza.
A year later, a group of his comrades stormed an area besieged by the IOF, targeting it with explosives and machine gun fire, killing four IOF soldiers and injuring many others. This operation occurred in full view of the besieged Palestinians, forced the IOF to retreat, and broke the siege.
He wrote, "I cannot stand the sight of our people suffering the horrors of the terrible occupation and remain silent. I can't wait; I can't stand it. I desire to hit them and hit them. No, rather, I desire to destroy and destroy this enemy in every place.
We can only prove our existence by action, not by words."
Two years later, on March 9th of 1973, the IOF located Guevara after four years of chasing him. They besieged him in Gaza with hundreds of soldiers, tanks, and planes. Guevara did not falter. He and his two comrades—Kamel Al-Asmi and Abdulhadi Al-Hayek—emerged ready to battle and refusing to surrender. All three were martyred. Moshe Dayan himself came to Gaza to ensure that Guevara, the nightmare that haunted the zionists, was truly martyred.

Today, we commemorate one year since the martyrdom of the hero Moataz Al-Khawaja of Ni’lin, who executed the legendary shooting operation in “Tel Aviv,” on March 6, 2023.
The son of a Hamas leader, Moataz, previously served two terms for a total of five years in “Ofer” prison, accused of illegally possessing weapons and for his affiliation with Hamas, before his eventual release in 2020.
Moataz wrote in his Quran during his detainment, “I am the living martyr Moataz Billah Salah Al-Khawaja. Ni’lin, Ramallah. Your prayers, my friends. Brothers, I wish you well.”
Moataz walked on the path of resistance, and on the night of March 9, 2023, shook the roots of the zionist entity with a shooting operation that led to the death of a settler, and injured five others.
Moataz was shot by occupation officers shortly after, fulfilling his love for martyrdom.
Additionally, the operation occurred two days after a zionist massacre in the city of Jenin, which claimed the lives of seven martyrs, and only thirteen hours after the martyrdom of another three martyrs in Jenin belonging to the Jaba’ Brigade.
As news circulated of the operation, taking revenge for the recent martyrs of Jenin, the masses of Palestine erupted in celebration. Sweets were distributed in the streets of Jenin and Nablus, and the children of Jenin hugged their mothers in joy.
Still, the might of Moataz continued after his martyrdom, as his cousin, the heroic martyr Ahmed Yassin Ghaidhan carried out a similar shooting operation just 4 months later in the settlement of “Kedumim,” west of Nablus on July 6, 2023, killing one occupation soldier and injuring others.

O employees of all government facilities and institutions, salutations of honor, appreciation, and respect to you for your patience and endurance through months of suffering, which will extend if we do not unify our voices to reject this suspicious silence from the government and successive governments.
Futhermore,
The bitter and miserable reality that we have been experiencing for many months of suffering, hunger, poverty, and humiliation of the employee is what made us break our silence to reject this deliberate humiliation by the government towards us. By God, we have been harmed and swallowed the bitterness of humiliation and deprivation, and we have exhausted our efforts, working hard in order to provide ourselves and our children with a living.
However, we have become unable to provide our living needs due to the low, eroding salaries, which have lost their salaries and can no longer be borne by anyone. So here we are today, knocking on the government’s door in order to present to them our demands for the last time before we increase our legitimate escalation, and we say to them: Enough shirking your duties and responsibilities towards us, for we are the ones who have been patient, endured, worked, and struggled to serve the country and the citizen.
We have been very patient and given many opportunities to improve the situation. We have reached a point where we can no longer tolerate this, after we knocked on all the doors you closed, obstructing sit-ins and erecting military checkpoints, we demand the following:
1. Obligating the government to pay salaries immediately and regularly.
2. Scheduling of dues.
3. Amending the Civil Service Law, ensuring equality among ministry employees without discrimination.
4. Raising the standard of living.
5. Working to create a union body for employees, which we have called for more than once, but the government is determined to stop this.
We in the Public Employees Movement, after consultation and response to our demands, in which we did not find any interest or sense of responsibility from the government, decided the following:
1. Declaring a general and comprehensive strike in all ministries, starting tomorrow, Sunday 10/3/2024, until demands are met. The strike will not be lifted except with an official statement from the movement.
2. Continued escalation of the movement and the implementation of protests and marches according to the time frame that will be announced in due course by Movement.
