🚨 BREAKING: Paralyzed prisoner Khaled Shaweesh, 53 years old, from Al-Fara'a Camp in Tubas, has ascended to martyrdom in "Nafha" prison, according to prisoners' organizations.

He has been imprisoned since 2007 and sentenced to 11 life sentences. He is one of the chronic medical cases in the zionist prisons.

Khaled is the 9th prisoner to ascend to martyrdom in the zionist prisoners since October 7th, 2023, and the 246th martyr of the prisoner movement since 1967.

The decision of the World Food Programme to suspend food aid distribution is a dangerous step contributing to the mass death of our people in North Gaza Strip, and is added to a long record of betrayal and shirking of responsibilities by United Nations institutions.

Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoners' Club confirmed the martyrdom of the prisoner leader Khaled Musa Jamal Al-Shaweesh (53 years old) from Aqaba / Tubas, one of the leaders of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, who was severely injured by the bullets of the "israeli" occupation army in 2001, which led to his paralysis and dozens of shrapnel injuries. Al-Shaweesh continued his resistance against the occupation after his injury until he was arrested by the occupation in 2007, and was sentenced to life imprisonment 11 times. He is the brother of prisoner Nasser Al-Shaweesh, sentenced to life imprisonment four times, and brother of released prisoner Mohammed Al-Shawish, who spent 11 years in prison, and brother of the martyr Musa Al-Shaweesh who ascended to martyrdom in 1992. Two of his sons were also arrested. He was married and a father of four children: Qutaiba, Ansar, Anad, and Tasnim.

The Commission and the Club stated in a joint statement today, Wednesday, that Al-Shaweesh was subjected to several medical crimes throughout his years of detention, and his health condition was one of the most prominent evidences of medical crimes against sick prisoners in "israeli" occupation prisons, where he spent the majority of his detention years in the so-called "Ramla Prison Clinic" which prisoners call "the slaughterhouse," where a number of his sick prisoner comrades ascended over the past years. About a year ago, he was transferred from the "Ramla Prison Clinic" to "Rimon" prison, and after October 7th, he was transferred to "Nafha" prison.

The Commission and the Club continued, that since his arrest, Al-Shaweesh faced a series of crimes in addition to medical crimes. He faced harsh interrogation at the beginning of his detention, which led to a deterioration of his health condition. Throughout all these years, the shrapnel of the occupation's bullets remained in his body, and the prison administration continued to provide him with painkillers containing a high percentage of narcotics, due to the constant pain in his body. Several years ago, Al-Shaweesh fell from his wheelchair, causing a fracture in the platinum in his arm, and his condition deteriorated severely after undergoing surgery in "Soroka" Hospital and suffering from poisoning in his body. Since then, his condition has been deteriorating severely due to the cumulative medical crimes he faced.

The Commission and the Club confirm that the martyrdom of prisoner Al-Shaweesh today is a new confirmation of the significant risks faced by hundreds of sick prisoners in the prisons, especially after October 7th, in light of the escalation of torture, abuse, starvation, and isolation operations, along with the medical crimes that played a central role in the martyrdom of prisoners over the past years and after October 7th.

The Commission of Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner’s Club hold the "israeli" occupation prison administration fully responsible for the martyrdom of prisoner Al-Shaweesh, who is the ninth martyr to ascend in "israeli" occupation prisons after October 7th, in addition to the detained martyr Mohammed Abu Sneineh who ascended in "Hadassah" Hospital affected by his injury by the occupation's bullets, raising the number of martyrs of the prisoner movement since 1967 to (247) martyrs.

It is noted that there is a group of detainees from Gaza, one of whom the occupation admitted to executing, who ascended in the occupation's camps after October 7th, and the occupation refuses to disclose their identities until today.

The number of prisoners in "israeli" occupation prisons exceeds 9,000 prisoners, among them 3,484 administrative detainees.

We hold the zionist occupation fully responsible for the martyrdom of the prisoner Shaweesh, and we affirm that resistance is the guarantee to force the occupation to release our prisoners soon, Allah willing.
