The Palestinian Prisoner’s Club stated that the occupation authorities transferred the prisoner leader Zakaria Zubeidi from solitary confinement in "Ramon" prison to solitary confinement in Asqalan prison, under harsh conditions.
The Prisoner’s Club emphasized that the policy of isolation, in its various levels, constitutes one of the most dangerous policies that have escalated at an unprecedented rate against prisoners. It has taken on another concept after October 7th, especially after the prison administration stripped them of the simplest tools and means of communication with the outside world, aiming at their physical and psychological liquidation.
Since the beginning of the largest aggression on prisoners after October 7th, many prisoners, including leaders in the prisoner movement, were transferred to solitary confinement after being subjected to brutal beatings, torture, and mistreatment, and were practically placed in double isolation, especially since we today do not describe the existing isolation in prisons at the level of isolation that existed before October 7th.
About Prisoner Zubeidi
Prisoner Zakaria Zubeidi was born on January 19, 1975, in Jenin refugee camp. In May 2022, his brother Dawood Zubeidi was martyred after being shot by the occupation, and after being transferred to the "israeli" "Rambam" hospital for treatment, his arrest was announced and he was martyred there.
The occupation continues to hold his body to this day, while his cousins (Naeem and Mohammed) were martyred in November of the last year, and his brother Jibril has been under administrative detention since February 2023, a former prisoner who spent years in the occupation's prisons.
