On the decision of the International Court of Justice:

The Islamic Resistance Movement - Hamas welcomes the decision of the International Court of Justice in The Hague, which indicted the occupying state on charges of genocide, and demands that the occupation army protect civilians, lift the siege imposed on our people in the Gaza Strip, and respect its duties as an occupying force within the framework of international law and international humanitarian law. This decision means the cessation of all forms of aggression against our Palestinian people in Gaza.

We call on the international community to oblige the enemy to implement the court’s decisions and stop the ongoing “crime of genocide” against our people. We look forward to the court’s final decisions convicting the occupying state of committing the crime of “genocide,” war crimes, and crimes against humanity. This decision opens the way for enemy leaders to be held accountable for these crimes before the International Criminal Court, affirming the rights of our Palestinian people to self-determination, establishing their independent state, and returning to their lands and homes from which they were forcefully displaced, in line with international resolutions on this matter.

We in the Hamas movement appreciate the genuine position of the Republic of South Africa, its support for our Palestinian people and the justice of their cause, its sincere endeavor to repel the aggression against the Gaza Strip, and its rejection of the brutal crimes of the occupation. We also extend our thanks to all countries that have expressed their support for this noble humanitarian action.

In light of the efforts made by the South African government to file a genocide lawsuit against the zionist entity in the International Court of Justice, and considering the court's decision today, we affirm the following:

- We commend the efforts of the South African government that tried to stop the aggression and overcome the international silence and incapacity regarding the brutal massacres committed by the zionist enemy against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

- We are surprised by the court's failure to issue a clear decision for an immediate ceasefire despite its decision to accept South Africa's lawsuit for the entity's violation of the Genocide Convention, which diminishes the value of other decisions and interim measures.

- The decision, which included interim measures, does not rise to the level of the crime practiced by the government of the zionist entity in the Gaza Strip in its most heinous material, moral, psychological, and social forms.

- We affirm that the failure to issue international decisions obliging the zionist enemy to stop the aggression is a result of the failure of the international system and its institutions to protect human rights and the rights of peoples to freedom due to the American-zionist hegemony over this system, which has become to move according to its interests at the expense of the interests of oppressed peoples.

🚨🟢 Martyr Izz El-Din Al-Qassam Brigades:

After our fighters returned from the combat lines northwest of Al-Maghazi camp, they confirmed they had trapped a number of occupation soldiers in a tight ambush by closing the gate of a tunnel on 7 zionist soldiers.

After the soldiers descended into it, the tunnel's entrance was blown up with an anti-personnel "Ra'adiya" explosive device, causing deaths and injuries among them. They then targeted two Merkava tanks with a Shuath explosive device and an Al-Yassin 105 shell.

Today, we honor the soul of the departed comrade and leader, George Habash "Al-Hakim." 16 years ago, he passed away in exile after a long struggle striving towards liberation and return, having founded the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine after meeting Wadie Haddad in medical school in Beirut.

We will be sharing a collection of writings and videos in honor of Al-Hakim on this occasion.

On this day in 2008, George Habash (Al-Hakim) passed away in exile. Al-Hakim was one of the founders of the PFLP and served as its General Secretary until 2000. Habash continued observing the thawabet and principles of true liberation with dedication and steadfastness his entire life. From colonized Al-Lydd, he is a survivor of the Nakba and dedicated his life to the service of his people, leveraging his academic experience not to self-elevate as others so often do, but to treat people as a doctor in the camps while living a humble life. He taught us to emphasize our own sustainability, to safeguard our dignity, and to labor for the cause of liberation.

His vision for liberation was always clear, analytical, and pragmatic. Al-Hakim fiercely held that any interaction, acknowledgment, or partnership with the colonizing enemy is a transgression against not only all struggling colonized people, but especially against those marginalized by the bourgeoisie. He emphasized that the enemy was not just the zionist entity, but that US imperialism remains the head of the snake that consumes the global south.

Al-Hakim was particularly mindful of the essential role and rights of refugees, farmers, women, students, and laborers. George Habash taught us that we are not less because we struggle, bringing forth the word "laborious" not merely as an indication of social status, but that the laborious are the leaders of resistance and revolution.

Today we notice this as the camps offer their own as soldiers in the name of liberation, elevated in martyrdom. Al Hakim was never apologetic about armed Palestinian resistance, which served our people’s dignity and pushed forth our struggle. All the while, cultural laborers, artists, and teachers safeguarded our essence through his teachings. An anti-imperialist model to all, George Habash never overlooked us even when normalization grew increasingly popular among the traitors and stayed committed to the Arab front of rejectionists against imperialist interests throughout the region.

Today, Al Hakim’s teachings and leadership as a founder of the PFLP remain all the more relevant: we refuse normalization, we will fight imperialism wherever the winds of the Nakba pushed us, and we will never relent until we liberate all of Palestine from the river to the sea! That is what George Habash taught us, and we forever hold him as a revolutionary strategist, fighter, and teacher. In the words of Al-Hakim: "Revolt! You have nothing to lose but your chains and your tents."

"Al-Hakim Taught Us America is the Head of the Snake," a modern rendition of a classic PFLP song. Produced in 2013.

On the third anniversary of the Naksa, "the setback," in which zionist forces occupied the West Bank, Gaza, Syria Golan, and Egyptian Sinai, a defiant George Habash stood in front of cheering crowds. As he raised an AK-47 rifle, crowds cheered "With our souls and with our blood, we will avenge you O Hakim!"

He began his short speech:
"O masses of our struggling people,
Today is the third anniversary of the June defeat. However, these masses, our struggling and fighting masses: these are the masses—our workers and our fellaheen—that know, with these guns, know how to transform defeat into victory."

The crowds erupted, not knowing that, 35 years later, Gaza would liberate itself via armed struggle, nor knowing that, on the eve of the anniversary of the Naksa, an Egyptian hero would march from the deserts of the once-occupied Sinai to the deserts of the still-occupied Naqab to rekindle the era of victory.

They did not know the flood of resistance to come: Kamal Adwan, Lydd Airport, Munich, the Alley of Death, the Valley of Thieves, Beit Lid, the Battle of Jenin, the Flag Operation, Dizengoff in all its iterations, Khairi Alqam, the Revenge of the Free.

Today, we commemorate the Naksa. 300,000 were displaced in what many describe as the "second Nakba," despite that our Nakba is continuous. The zionist expansion of the Naksa laid the foundations for concession and settlement by Arab governments that sought to normalize under imperialist pressure, but the resisting Arab masses proved that they refuse defeat and normalization. The resisting masses refuse Camp David, Oslo, and Wadi Araba.

Sumoud (steadfastness) Magazine published on its cover a month after the Naksa: "Resistance will remain the response to the defeat." Indeed, it remained and remains the only path to salvation and liberation.

🇪🇭 Today marks 50 years of the Sahrawi armed struggle against Spanish colonialism. Like the Palestinian struggle, the Sahrawi struggle is an anti-colonial one that seeks to liberate land, a struggle against reactionary regimes, the comprador, and the colonizers.

In this 1979 video, PFLP Secretary-General George Habash visited Sahrawi refugee camps. He told the cheering people of the camps:

"On behalf of the Palestinian people, on behalf of the people of Wehdat and Tel Al-Zaatar refugee camps, on behalf of the Palestinian revolution, and every fighter of the PFLP, on their behalf and mine: We salute you! We salute your struggle, your heroes, and your sacrifices! We salute your faith in your just cause! I salute your heroic victories in your struggle against the Spanish colonizers and the treasonous monarchic regime in Morocco."

Habash remarked, "We have followed your heroic struggle against Spanish colonizers until you forced them to leave your homeland! Then, we followed your struggle against the reactionary powers in the Arab Morocco.

"When your struggle targeted the reactionary regime in Morocco, we paid more attention to your revolution. We felt as if you were fighting with us in the same trenches against the enemies of the Palestinian revolution.

"In the Palestinian revolution, we don't just fight against 'israel' and zionism; we fight against the Arab reactionary forces who are aligned with the zionist movement. We, in the Palestinian revolution, consider Hassan II to be our enemy, just as he is an enemy to you."
