The eagles of the clash: the comrades who, armed with an iron will, two pistols, and three grenades, raised the heads of the homeland from the center of Nablus.

Our story today is about the two leaders of the PFLP's Martyr Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, Yamen Faraj (Abu Nasreen), the Brigades' commander-in-chief, and his comrade and deputy Amjad Mulaitat (Abu Watan). Both were activists in their younger days, Yamen being the secretary of the PSLF as a student at Al-Najah, and Amjad having joined the PFLP at 14 years of age.

Both carried out daring operations and clashes together. Both were pursued by the occupation for years until their martyrdom together in a heroic armed clash on this day 19 years ago.

Our comrades left us on a day not dissimilar to today's epics of victory, turning defense into offense, and teaching zionist forces lessons that they could never forget: "Are you on the covenant, my friend?," Yamen asked. "On the covenant," Amjad replied. Outnumbered, our heroes persevered despite rocket fire, tanks, and gunfire from all directions. Bang—the first bullets of the eagles immediately neutralized invading forces. Boom—a grenade supports them. Our heroes rushed, grabbing an IOF machine gun and rocket launcher.

One of the eagles was hit.
"My friend, you have a chance to retreat. Go, and I will cover your back."
"I told you. On the covenant, my friend."

Yamen ascended to martyrdom moments later. For two hours, Amjad continued the legendary clash. One bullet was left in his gun, and he lay injured as a zionist soldier approached to flip him over. Bang—Amjad fired his final bullet into the zionist's skull. Bang, bang, bang, bang—Amjad was martyred by the IOF, refusing to die a natural death and only under showers of bullets.

The clash lasted over four hours. The zionist forces paid a heavy toll in blood: the eagles killed the unit officer, and several soldiers were injured.

At the top of their lungs, our heroes shouted: "The Eagles of the Martyr Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades will not surrender!"

The Kuwaiti Falcon Soaring Over Palestine.
"You will be proud of me. I will raise your heads and the heads of all Arabs." It was a promise and a farewell.

These words were said to his comrades by martyr Fawzi Abdulrasoul Al-Majadi, an Arab Kuwaiti resistance fighter who dedicated his life to the Palestinian cause in the midst of the first intifada. From Kuwait to Lebanon, Fawzi made his pilgrimage to join the revolution as part of the DFLP in support of the struggling Palestinian people and in holding true to his convictions as an Arab. He joined the revolution to "renew the unity of destiny to conquer the oppression of occupation on all struggling peoples."

Fawzi and his comrades set out to execute the Martyrs of Nablus Operation on the day he uttered these words, June 4th 1989. Their target was an IOF military site near "Meskav Am" in northern occupied Palestine. With two other Palestinian comrades, they killed an IOF soldier, captured two, and injured several others. The three heroes were martyred following bombardment by IOF helicopters after long clashes.

Their bodies were held in the cemetery of numbers for nearly 20 years. On July 16th 2008, a prisoner exchange led by Hezbollah saw the release of the bodies of 199 Arab resistance fighters, including Fawzi Al-Majadi. He was buried honorably in Kuwait following a warm welcome by supporting masses.

Today, the echoes of Fawzi's indomitable spirit resonate decades later, inspiring a new generation of Arab heroes. It was this same spirit, the immortal desire for justice and liberation, that guided another martyr on a journey of defiance and sacrifice: Egypt's Mohammed Salah. The Kuwaiti falcon and the Egyptian lion, both soaring high, their spirits united in the struggle for Palestine's liberation.

From the Ocean to the Gulf, Fawzi sacrificed for Palestine and its Arabism, so that it may be free from the River to the Sea. From the deserts of Kuwait, the falcon soared to Lebanon with his eyes set on Palestine, raising his weapon and wearing victory.
