Hours after the martyrdom of his oldest son, Hamza, journalist and Al-Jazeera bureau chief Wael Al-Dahdouh returns on air to cover zionist crimes taking place in #Gaza.

On October 25th, the IOF targeted his family's home, leading to the martyrdom of his wife and nephew, as well as his son and daughter: Sham and Mahmoud. Moments later, he returned to the air, continuing his coverage of the occupation's crimes once more.

On December 15th, Wael himself was wounded after the IOF bombed the Haifa School in Khan Younis, southern #Gaza. His cameraman, Samer Abu Daqqah, ascended to martyrdom in the bombing, after the IOF besieged the school and prevented medical teams from reaching the site, with Samer unable to move for over three hours. It marked the fourth time that his crew was deliberately targeted.

Wael directed his message to the masses for the New Year two weeks later: "This insane war has left nothing untouched. Despite everything, we wish this year to be one of goodness, one of dignity and victory."

Today, his eldest son Hamza was martyred with fellow journalist Mustafa Thuraya, becoming the 109th martyred journalist. Hamza wrote of his father two days ago: "You are patient and hopeful, my father, so do not despair of healing, nor lose hope in God’s mercy, and be certain that God will reward you well for your patience."

Wael, in mourning his son today, said: "Not a part of me, Hamza was all of me, the soul of the soul, and everything."
"These are the tears of the pain and separation, the tears that differentiate us from our enemies: We are saturated with humanity, while they are saturated with killing and hatred. This is why we cry and pour tears—it is true—but these are the tears of humanity, the tears of generosity and nobility, not the tears of helplessness, fear, and submissiveness."
