Following the deliberate destruction of hospitals in northern Gaza by the "israeli" occupation, the Ministry of Health and its teams succeeded in reopening the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital, Friends, Al-Sahaba, Al-Halw International, Al-Awda, and several primary care centers, despite significant risks to medical teams due to continuous shelling of residential areas and surrounding health institutions.
The Ministry of Health is making strenuous efforts with the World Health Organization and UN partners to carry out effective and urgent interventions to ensure the reopening of Al-Shifa Medical Complex and hospitals in northern Gaza.
The Ministry calls for urgent and effective steps to ensure the protection of all hospitals and their staff, and to secure access routes, especially in northern Gaza, which serves a population of 800,000.
We urges countries and international organizations to send required medical teams, medical aid, and field hospitals to save thousands of injured.
We warns of the risks of famine and drought affecting more than 1.9 million displaced people lacking proper shelter, water, food, medicine, and safety.
50,000 pregnant women in shelters suffer from malnutrition and health complications, particularly those with high-risk pregnancies, due to lack of drinking water, cleanliness, food, and health care.
Over 900,000 children in shelters face severe cold, dehydration, malnutrition, respiratory and skin diseases, and lack of vaccinations for newborns.
Children and women are experiencing multiple psychological disorders due to intense bombing, destruction, seeing remains, loss of relatives, and homes.
Medical aid is limited, restricted, and does not meet hospital needs. All parties are urged to find effective mechanisms to ensure the flow of medical aid as per the needs announced by the Ministry of Health.
The current mechanism for evacuating the wounded and sick is inadequate for the large and increasing numbers, contributing to the death of more injured daily. A review is necessary, as less than 1% of the wounded have been allowed to leave so far.
There is an urgent need to evacuate over 5,300 critically injured and sick patients for treatment abroad to save their lives.
