A unique signature:

Raeda Saeed is one of dozens of women who organize continuously to protest zionist settler invasions of Al Aqsa and monitor settler activity. Eight years ago, Raeda, a resident of AlQuds, received over 20 expulsion decisions from Al-Aqsa Mosque, most recently on Friday for a period of six months. But this time, she refused the decision in her own way; instead of signing her name on the expulsion order, she signed two words: "Al-Aqsa is ours."

She was born in Al-Qarmi neighborhood and lived in the Old City of AlQuds since 1973. After her marriage, she lived in the Shuafat refugee camp with her six children. Raeda joined the terraces of Al-Aqsa Mosque in the prime of her forties until she became one of the most prominent murabits (defender of Al-Aqsa). Since then, Raeda has taken to filming and documenting all the details of Al-Aqsa, Al-Quds, and their people; she produced many distinctive clips that are circulating to this day.

Her signing of "Al-Aqsa is ours" is a symbolic indication of the rejection of unjust and successive expulsions, and is a protest against that the decision is enforced whether or not the document is signed.

Via Samidoun: Palestinian prisoner, writer, and thinker Walid Daqqa faces a serious deterioration in his health after being diagnosed with leukemia. The Palestinian prisoners’ movement declared that the delay in identifying his condition is due to Israeli occupation medical negligence, a policy of “slow killing” directed against the Palestinian prisoners—noting that the occupation and its prison administration is fully responsible for his life and health.

Walid Daqqa has suffered from health problems and concern about his blood for years; two years ago, he was told that he should receive regular blood tests. However, due to the constant delays in health care experienced by prisoners as part of the occupation’s policy of medical negligence, he did not receive the ordered regular testing until now and his cancer remained undiagnosed.

Daqqa is one of the most prominent and long-time prisoners, known widely for his writing and cultural work from behind bars. Born in 1961 in Baqa al-Gharbiyya in occupied Palestine, he has been imprisoned since March 1986 for forming a military cell of the PFLP that participated in a resistance operation in 1985 in which an occupation soldier was captured and killed.

Once behind bars, he obtained a master’s in political science and wrote several books in the realm of political theory as well as fiction, including children’s fiction. On multiple occasions, he faced harsh repression, including solitary confinement, especially targeted toward his expressive work.

In 1999, Daqqa married Sana’ Salameh, even behind bars. In 2020, Sana’ gave birth to their daughter Milad, conceived from Daqqa’s smuggled sperm.

Samidoun joins the Palestinian prisoners’ movement in highlighting the ongoing policy of medical neglect targeting prisoners, underlining that the occupation is fully responsible for Walid Daqqa’s life and health, as it is for the situation of all ill prisoners. We demand the immediate release of Walid Daqqa and all Palestinian prisoners!
