Today, the zionist occupation forces committed a brutal, compounded crime by targeting the Farhana School, which is run by UNRWA and shelters displaced Palestinians in Khan Younis. Then, they executed a second deliberate bombardment, targeting the press teams who arrived at the school to cover the first bombing. This resulted in several injuries, including Al-Jazeera correspondent Wael Al-Dahdouh and Al-Jazeera photographer Samer Abu Daqqa.

This intentional targeting of displaced civilians at a United Nations-flagged displacement center, as well as journalists, is part of the genocidal war waged by the zionist occupation against our people. It is an attempt to intimidate the press from documenting their massacres in the Gaza Strip. This requires widespread international condemnation and serious efforts to protect civilians and journalists from the crimes of the Nazi occupation army.

We strongly condemn and denounce in the strongest terms the continued targeting of journalists in the Gaza Strip by the zionist occupation forces. The battle of Al-Aqsa Flood witnessed the martyrdom of nearly 90 journalists, and many others were wounded while performing their media duty in documenting events and conveying the truth to the world.

The occupation forces' targeting of journalists aims to blind the world to its crimes and assassinate the eyewitnesses who document the genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza. Among its recent victims was colleague Wael Al-Dahdouh, a correspondent for Al-Jazeera, who was injured while covering the ongoing events in Gaza, following the massacre committed by the occupation against his family, in a clear war crime.

The targeting of journalists, exposing them to danger and injury while performing their media duty, constitutes a blatant violation of human rights and press freedom. Media professionals must be provided with international protection to ensure their safety and freedom in performing their duties.

We demand urgent intervention from the relevant institutions worldwide to curb these violations and provide protection for journalists from targeting and to achieve justice for those injured or martyred during the current battle, whether in Gaza, the occupied West Bank, or southern Lebanon.

🚨 Maersk, the second largest shipping company in the world, announced its decision to cease all movement of its container ships in the Red Sea due to the threats of the Yemeni Armed Forces.
