Yet, the rifle speaks. The bullets roar, as they did today in Al-Quds in the operation by martyrs Abdulqader Al-Qaqasmi, Nasr Al-Qawasmi, and Hassan Qafisha that killed and wounded a number of IOF soldiers. They spoke on this day last year, when the heroic martyr of Salfit, Mohammed Murad Souf, carried out a shooting and run-over operation, killing three settlers and wounding six. They spoke 21 years ago today, during the legendary Alley of Death operation.
The Alley of Death. Today, the alleys of Jenin and Gaza have turned into alleys of death for IOF soldiers. On this day 21 years ago, the alley of death was in "Kiryat Arba" in Al-Khalil.
14 IOF soldiers and officers were killed, picked off one by one, as in the legendary Valley of Thieves operation that took place a few months earlier. 15 others were wounded. With incredible precision, Dhiyab Al-Muhtasib, Wilaa Sorour, and Akram Al-Hinani, on behalf of Saraya Al-Quds, carried out the well-orchestrated operation to avenge the blood of the martyred commander Iyad Sawalha.
These three heroes were engineering students. Indeed, a feat of engineering it was. The martyr Basil Al-Araj, in his tours of resistance, recalls: "They were tacticians, these men. Engineers."
They triangulated their position to catch a convoy of zionist soldiers by surprise and fired simultaneously to set off the operation. In the four hours of battle, they moved their positions frequently to create the impression that many more fighters than three were attacking the IOF.
