When receiving prisoners news, it is very noticeable the extent to which the occupation imposes a strict media blackout, particularly on hunger-striking prisoners. This failed attempt to break their will and isolate our imprisoned heroes leads to a deliberate denial of access to information about their condition for extended periods of time, sometimes weeks.
In this voice note, the wife of prisoner Hassan Jaradat explains how his 14-day hunger strike was broken about a week ago. This event was unreported, even by official bodies that diligently report prisoners' news, which did not report the start of his hunger strike due to the deliberate absence of communication imposed by the occupation on prisoners and their families.
Hassan's case is just one among many, across both zionist and PA prisons, as numerous prisoners break or continue their hunger strikes without anyone, not even their families, being aware of it or able to know about it.
This act, which goes against all human, legal, and moral principles, is not unexpected from the occupation. It is our duty to seek ways to exert pressure in order to ensure our prisoners’ battle is on the forefront when seeking liberation, and to break the information siege about them.
