🟢 Hamas condemns the PA's arrest of pro-resistance university students:
—
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The continuation of the Authority's forces arresting students is a rejected crime that serves the occupation and deepens the wounds of our people.
The ongoing arrests of university students, and the students of the Islamic Bloc, by the Security Forces of the Palestinian Authority, is a rejected crime that serves the occupation. It offers a free service to the occupation, clearly contradicting the values of our people and ethical and national principles in the context of its comprehensive battle with the occupation.
We, in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), condemn this behavior that has caused a lot of wounds, pain, and suffering to our students. This wound continues to deepen without responsibility from the side of these Forces and their executing leaders. We say to these Forces, enough is enough; turning a blind eye to the consequences of these actions is not in the interest of our people and our cause. Maintaining the civil peace of our people is a necessity that no one but the malicious and ignorant would reject, especially in the face of the crimes of the occupation and its settlers who tamper with the security of our people in the occupied West Bank.
University students are one of the symbols of the authentic national movement; they are a pillar of effective action against the occupation. Trying to weaken them and affect their morale is a desperate attempt that will be shattered against a long history full of sacrifices by the student movement for the elevation of our people and the triumph of its project opposing the occupation and protecting the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
We call on the Authority's agencies to stop this approach and immediately release all political prisoners and university students. We emphasize the role of all factions, institutions, and national figures in curbing political arrests and violations by the security agencies, to protect the unity of our people and our internal front until the elimination of the zionist occupation.

Prisoners in occupation prisons continue to face medical negligence, in a slow assassination attempt.
The occupation continues to detain cancer-stricken prisoner Asif Rifai (21 years old) in “Ramla Prison Clinic,” despite the ongoing risks to his life and his urgent need for his family. Concerns have been raised after recent CT scans showed no improvement in his health condition, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Club.
Asif began receiving treatment seven months after his arrest on September 24 2022, despite medical reports confirming the health risks he faced during his detention.
Elderly detainee Sheikh Said Nakhla (65 years old) was brutally threatened and re-arrested early Thursday morning from his home in Jalazone camp, Ramallah, just four months after his release, following his last administrative detention that lasted about a year.
The Prisoner Club stated that Said Nakhla has been arrested a total of 14 times since 1977, and spent a cumulative period of about 18 years, mostly under administrative detention. Nakhla suffers from multiple health problems resulting from the repeated arrests.
In 2020, he underwent a catheterization procedure just one day after his arrest and still requires medical follow-up. He is considered one of the prominent prisoners targeted through administrative arrests.
The Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners’ Affairs Commission also reported that the health condition of the prisoner, Walid Daqqah, who is suffering from bone-marrow cancer and is detained in Ramla Prison "Clinic," has slightly stabilized. However, the danger is still present, and he is in need of intensive medical care in specialized civilian hospitals.
Recently, he has experienced several serious and consecutive health setbacks, including acute pneumonia and acute kidney failure.
The Commission called for his urgent transfer to a civilian hospital that can provide him with the necessary medical treatments, warning against the risks of keeping him in the Ramla Clinic due to its lack of adequate medical facilities.

Suppression of dissent:

Journalist Hatem Hamdan (pictured) was also abducted yesterday in Al-Bireh.
The lawyer Mohammed Abu Ma'ala from #Qabatiya was freed yesterday after he was kidnapped for 11 days. The reason for Mohammed's arrest was due to him speaking to the media about political arrests in the West Bank a week prior, and he was forced to sign a pledge to not speak to the media.
Freed prisoners and brothers Mufdi, Munadil, Mujahid, and Makin Sa'ada from #Nablus have been kidnapped without charges by the PA in Al-Juneid prison for over a month.
After 50 days of detention and a 17-day-long hunger strike, PA Forces in Al-Khalil released the political prisoner Dawood Al-Haroub. He was previously held in zionist jails.

Palestinian prisoners continue their hunger strikes amidst serious health issues.
Kayed Fasfous is on his 37th day of hunger strike in protest of his administrative detention. His health is continuously deteriorating while he is held in solitary confinement cells in Naqab prison.
Kayed is suffering from extreme fatigue and exhaustion, making his movement extremely difficult. He is unable to walk or stand, and he experiences pain throughout his body. Additionally, he suffers from frequent dizziness, balance problems, and memory issues.
Kayed is being restricted and humiliated by the prison guards. Due to his immobility, they forcibly pull him up and make him move. Moreover, the prison administration withdrew the mattress he sleeps on five days ago.
Kayed went on a nine-day hunger strike in June, and a heroic 131-day-long hunger strike to snatch his freedom in late 2021, as well as in 2019. All of his siblings are prisoners, and he himself has spent a total of seven years in zionist prisons since 2007.
Sultan Khallouf (42 years old) of Jenin is on his 37th day of hunger strike against his administrative detention. He faces a continuous deterioration in his health condition, held in a cell in the Ramla Prison “Clinic.”
Sultan's health condition is critical. He is suffering from vomiting, including blood, impaired vision, severe headaches, dizziness, difficulty standing, and he moves around using a wheelchair, according to the Prisoners' Club.
The zionist prison service mocks him by eating meals in front of him and tells him that he is alone and that people will not stand with him.
It should be noted that he had previously engaged in a hunger strike in 2019 that lasted for 67 days in protest against his administrative detention.
PIJ leader Maher Al-Akhras is on his 17th day of hunger strike, which began at the moment of his arrest. He has spent a total of five years in zionist prisons and went on a victorious 103-day-long hunger strike in 2020. He is a father of six.

It is worth mentioning that the occupation continues to carry out wide-scale arrest campaigns in the West Bank, one of the most significant escalations recently. The IOF uses arrests to attempt to undermine any escalating confrontation against it. The number of arrests since the beginning of this year has exceeded 5,000, with administrative detention forming the basis for these arrests. The number of administrative detention orders reached 2,350, including new orders and renewals for previously detained individuals, according to the Prisoner’s Club.
The number of prisoners in occupation prisons is approximately 5,200, including 35 female prisoners and around 170 children. As of the end of August, the number of administrative detainees reached 1,264.
Palestinian prisoners have been preparing for a mass hunger strike on Thursday 14/09/23 in protest of the cowardly measures taken by the occupation prison authorities against them, such as reducing family visits.

"We should have never allowed these hunger strikes to exceed two weeks."
The martyr Nizar Banat, Palestinian Authority critic murdered at the hands of the PA, speaks about the mistake of public normalization of long term hunger strikes. He speaks about the devastating cost of hunger strikes, even if successful. And he speaks about PA suppression of protests against the occupation and in support of prisoners.
Nizar calls for a reconsideration of all the ways that we as a movement deal with this issue.
"We are forbidden from allowing any prisoner to reach the fifteenth day of his strike. We have to act from the beginning."
"Perhaps the public is disconnected from the reality of detention."
"It's very nice of you to put a picture of Maher Al-Akhras on your profile. But that is not enough."
He asks a critical question:
