This drawing by Naji Al-Ali is considered the reason that Yasser Arafat ordered Naji's assassination. The PLO blamed the Mossad out of convenience and shame, but mounting evidence points, and always pointed to, the PLO, comprised then of petit bourgeois figures that birthed the NGO-, US-, and zionist-backed Palestinian Authority.

For this and thousands of drawings opposing imperialism, corruption, and settlement, Naji received hundreds of death threats. Naji knew his fate. He welcomed death, but lived knowing he was wanted.
Rashida Mehran was Yasser Arafat's Egyptian mistress, his cultural advisor, and the author of the book, "Arafat my God." For another book, "Yasser Arafat, the Hard Number," she was rewarded positions close to Arafat. Rashida was a member of the General Secretariat of the Union of Palestinian Writers and Journalists, alluded to in the cartoon.
Naji crossed the red lines. But this never stopped him. He predicted the intifada and foresaw the consequences of the impending Oslo Accords.
"When they mention 'red lines' to me, I lose my mind. I know one 'red line': It is not the right of the biggest ego to sign a document of recognition or surrender to 'israel.'"
