After countless court delays, Al-Quds activist and prisoner Ramzi Al-Abbasi was sentenced to one year and one day of prison.
His daughter, Kanz, called out to her father to see her new bracelet as he was being escorted to court this morning.
Ramzi had been held without charge or trial since April 2, 2023 without being allowed to see his family. His mother passed away a few weeks after his detention.

The Battle Behind Bars: The Political Agenda Behind Prisoner Treatment
The so-called Minister of "National Security" Itamar Ben-Gvir issued on 30/7/23 an amendment to the law on the administrative release of Palestinian prisoners. This amendment eliminates the previous policy that allowed some Palestinians to be released from prison before their scheduled release date. It is worth noting that hundreds of prisoners used to be released annually due to minor offenses, as a result of overcrowding and lack of space in the prison. However, that has now been canceled.
"Israel" expert Shadi Al-Sharafa said in an interview with Al-Mayadeen that the decision to cancel the early release law by Ben-Gvir is an "extremist and populist decision aimed at gathering votes in the elections." He pointed out that Ben-Gvir makes decisions that resonate with the extremist "israeli" public, and the prisoners become hostages to "israeli" political bidding.
Al-Sharafa added that the total number of decisions related to prisoners in the past six months has reached four, as Ben-Gvir periodically makes decisions targeting the prisoners, executing them gradually, fearing the reaction of Palestinian prisoners inside the prisons. Among those laws are "canceling bakeries in prisons located in occupied southern Palestine, canceling dental treatment, and limiting the duration of water usage inside prisons."
He also highlighted that the prisoners have been facing a fierce attack from successive "israeli" governments for the past 20 years, and the governments that identified themselves as part of the "center" or "left-wing" have launched severe attacks on the prisoners.
The Palestinian Prisoner's Club said that the fascist minister's decision, Ben-Gvir, to cancel the early release of prisoners, comes within the context of the ongoing aggression against the prisoners, which has escalated with the fascist government taking power. The Club also affirmed that since its arrival, the government has worked to impose laws and legal amendments that affect the issue of prisoners, their fate, and their rights.
The Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission called on the Security Council and all human rights and humanitarian organizations to fulfill their responsibilities and take immediate action to put an end to the "israeli" zionist extremism led by the criminal known as Minister of "National Security," Itamar Ben-Gvir.
The Commission stated, "It is unacceptable for our prisoners and detainees to become hostages to the whims of an extremist gang who hold ministerial positions in the right-wing "israeli" government. It is unacceptable for punitive measures and revenge policies to be implemented through a series of laws that contradict the principles of international human rights law and blatantly violate all international agreements and treaties."
The Commission added, "The decision by the so-called Minister of 'National Security' in the occupation government, Itamar Ben-Gvir, to cancel the law that allows the release of prisoners or detainees before the end of their sentence is an additional step to further deteriorate the bleak lives of approximately 5,000 Palestinians inside prisons and detention centers. It comes in the context of tightening the noose around them and making their lives more complex and tense."
The Commission explained that Ben-Gvir's step of amending the administrative release law and canceling the provision that allows early release of Palestinian prisoners indicates his personal agenda in dealing with our prisoners and detainees, transforming them into a mathematical equation in "israeli" electoral calculations.
The Commission pointed out the real competition within "israeli" political and military circles to take revenge on prisoners and detainees. This is done through the introduction of issues and articles in the Knesset, subjecting them to successive readings, and eventually passing them as retaliatory and racist laws whose effectiveness increases with the continued deadly international silence.

The Jenin Phenomenon: New Details Reveal the PA's Plan to "End Resistance"
PIJ leader Maher Al-Akhras revealed aspects of a special security plan led by the Palestinian Authority's Security Services to end what it calls the "Jenin Phenomenon." The plan includes deploying hundreds of PA Presidential Guard soldiers at the entrances and gates of the city and the camp as part of the PA's "sacred security coordination" with the zionist enemy. This is an extension of previous US-backed plans that have been brewing for months.
According to Al-Akhras, the PA set up a security operations room in Jenin that includes senior security figures in the PA, including those who led the PA plan to attempt to dismantle the Lions' Den. These figures represent all aspects of the PA Security Forces, and Presidential Guard members were added.
They equipped the PA headquarters with dozens of individuals responsible for preventing any celebrations of resistance in Jenin. Akhras noted that these individuals were armed and provided with armored vehicles, spread across various PA headquarters in the city and the camp. Their exclusive role is to pursue any demonstration celebrating any resistance operation or to besiege and surround any march of resistance fighters in the camp.
Al-Akhras indicated that this room is the result of a plan approved after the traitorous Aqaba and Sharm El-Sheikh meetings between the PA and zionist enemy with US oversight, mainly activated after the recent Jenin invasion and in light of the heroic acts of resistance to repel the occupation forces from the camp.
The PA presented a plan that includes a set of points to "empty" the Jenin Brigade, the first of which is to bargain with the resistance fighters to surrender their weapons in exchange for receiving a pardon from the occupation and ensuring they are not pursued. The plan also offers jobs and money similar to what the PA attempted to do with the Lions' Den last fall; this plan depends on the same figures who tried to make these deals with Lions' Den fighters to "apply their vision and plan."
Further, the plan includes methods of threats and intimidation in terms of arrest and refusal to release even if court orders were issued—as is the case for fighters Musab Shtayyeh, Murad Malaysha, and Mohammed Brahma—linking the arrest of resistance fighters to the responsibility of the higher PA security agencies, and threatening the families of the wanted with the possibility of their assassination at any moment in order to continuously intimidate them.
He pointed out that this plan as a whole reflects the desire to implement the statements of PA President Mahmoud Abbas who stated, "We will not allow Balata to become like Jenin," indicating his desire to "resolve" the existence of resistance.
Al-Akhras considered these measures a clear participation by the PA in the liquidation of the resistance and ending its presence, while the PA stands by and watches the crimes of the settlers and their open war against the Palestinian people.
Al-Akhras called on "the leadership of the Fatah movement and the honorable members of the movement to take a stand against these measures that target all resistance fighters equally, aiming to secure the occupation at the expense of the blood of our people and the lives of its sons," and "The Authority must release the resistance fighters it recently arrested."
He added, "The Authority must know its duty. Where is it regarding the Palestinian concern?"
Al-Akhras reaffirmed, "The Islamic Jihad movement is continuing on the path of resistance, and it will not be concerned with those who have let it down."
Further, this evening, a meeting was held between the head of the "Shin Bet," Ronen Bar, and the Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Hussein Al-Sheikh, with the aim of increasing security coordination between the Palestinian Authority and zionist entity and strengthening the PA, a day after the entity rewarded the PA with a one year debt freeze.
