Today's story is about the revolutionary, internationalist comrade, colonel, and martyr, Antoun Jamil Slim Dawoud.
From Mexico to Palestine to Cuba, Antoun lived for revolution.
A son of the diaspora, he was born in Bogata, Colombia in 1909 to a family from Bethlehem. Revolutionary blood coursed through his veins. He fought against Americans in Mexico's Las Segovia battle, relocated to Honduras in 1932, and then to France and before moving to Palestine to fight and execute operations during the Arab revolt of 1936 with Abdulqader Al-Husseini. From there, he traveled to Cuba to fight alongside Che Guevara and Fidel Castro at the dawn of the Cuban revolution. Antoun followed Che to Bolivia, where the revolution continued, and Che fell as a martyr of the revolution. In his revolutionary life, Antoun met with Mao Zedong and Ho Chi Minh before his burial in Kuwait on this day in 1969, draped in a Palestinian flag. He was martyred as he was born: planning for the revolution.
Antoun's riveting story is one that competes with even the most astounding movie plots, but his life of revolution is as real as the struggles for which he fought.
Antoun was a pilot and a solider. In Mexico, he earned the rank of Captain due to his courage in the battle of the Las Segovia mountains, where he led machine gun squads. In Honduras two years later, he had founded a commercial airline.
Upon his return to his homeland, he first worked as a spy, since he told the immigration officer he was Jewish as soon as he got off the boat. He infiltrated the Palestine Mandate Police, where he worked as an agent for the revolutionaries. He would cover for them, help prisoners, and inform fighters of British plans. Despite hesitation due to his poor Arabic, Antoun joined the 1936 Revolution as it erupted, working as a spy within the comprador Palestine Police Force.

Antoun learned the ins and outs of the American consulate, discovering through Haganah members that zionist political and military forces were under the command of the Jewish Agency. His plan was meticulous, crafted with precision to ensure he knew who would be present. Antoun slept in the consulate that night, keeping a close eye on American zionist soldiers. After secretly listening to meetings, he contacted Abdulqader Al-Husseini—he knew what had to be done.
March 11th 1948.
Antoun passed through four Jewish checkpoints and two British ones. He planted barrel after barrel, tricking guards into thinking he was transporting American officers. They saw no one in the car. "Arab! Arab! Arab!" It was too late.
Antoun threw two bombs. Neither exploded. Undeterred, he drew two pistols and fired two shots, leaving an officer dead on the spot. He continued to hit soldiers, knowing time was running out and the explosives hadn't yet detonated. In a quick dash, Antoun rolled under a zionist armored vehicle and found himself on the main street, quickly moving to safety.
Boom. The Jewish Agency was turned to rubble under the force of Antoun's explosives. He had succeeded in destroying a booby-trapped fortress of zionist documents guarded by Haganah death squads. 250 tons of explosives had been detonated in front of the American consul, for whom he worked as a driver. 40 zionists were killed and 40 more were injured, with damage extending as far as the Jerusalem Post.
Antoun left safely, pistols loaded. He slyly told some zionist guards it was the British who had blown up the building.
He was not done yet. His fight was not over.

A lifelong struggle. (3/3)
From Yaffa to Al-Quds then onto Bethlehem. Back to Al-Quds. Antoun was home. He was in Palestine, fighting for her liberation. He accomplished what he set out to do. After the operation, he went to Areeha, then Nablus, where he ate some knafeh. His journey led him to Birzeit to meet commander Abdulqader.
Antoun was forced to leave home yet again because of risks to his life. However, he carried the sprit of struggle with him until his end. After the Nakba, he traveled to Cuba in 1950, becoming part of the first cell of the incipient and victorious Cuba revolution with Che Guevara and Fidel Castro. A specialist in guerilla warfare, Antoun accompanied Guevara to Bolivia in the 1960s.
He made several visits to Vietnam and China, conducting interviews with revolutionary leaders in Asia, particularly Mao Zedong. After a long journey in struggle, he returned once again to his homeland. There, he chose to join the PFLP under Dr. George Habash's leadership, because he believed in the value of its scientific socialist approach.
After the 1967 Naksa, Antoun planned a major operation with the PFLP to deal a severe blow to the zionist entity. Fate had other plans, and his time ended before his wish could be realized.
While visiting family in Kuwait, Antoun completed his tour of revolution and passed away, but his story lives. And the revolution lives, fueled by stories of courage like Antoun's. From Colombia to Cuba, from Bethlehem to Yaffa, from homeland to global struggle, Antoun's story is unbounded by borders and indelibly etched in the history of revolution.

The leader in the Islamic Jihad Movement, Khader Habib, confirmed today, Saturday, that the "Unity of the Fields" [battle] has proven the ability of Saraya Al-Quds and the resistance to strike deep into the enemy's territory and cost it dearly for its foolishness and terrorism against our people and leaders.
Habib told Al-Saraya website, "The Islamic Jihad raised this name, believing in the necessity of the unity of the battlefields on the basis that this battle is not only our people's battle, but it is the battle of the nation, and the nation should have an active participation in it."
Habib stressed that the slogan and the name had a positive impact on the future of the conflict with the enemy, explaining that the enemy is concerned about the consequences of this slogan, especially since many battlefields are moving towards Palestine and preparing themselves to fight with it.
Habib added that this battle is distinctive in its name and title, and through the performance of Saraya Al-Quds, which fought this round alone, its fighters translated that with their rockets and shells that did not stop for 55 hours in bombarding the settlements and occupied cities.
The PIJ leader continued, saying, "The unity of the fields means continuing the fight until the enemy disappears from our land, and undoubtedly the main objective of the Islamic Jihad and the Palestinian resistance is the liberation of Palestine, especially since our enemy does not only threaten the Palestinian people but poses a direct and significant threat to all the battlefields and the entire Arab and Islamic nation."
Habib further stated that this entity has no space or presence in this region until security and safety are restored to it, and the disappearance of the enemy depends on the joint efforts of the battlefields until Palestine returns to its Arab and Islamic embrace.
He mentioned that the battle thwarted the enemy's plans to neutralize the resistance and show that it is incapable of implementing what it says. It also thwarted its attempts to weaken the popular cradle for the resistance and reinforced the settlers' lack of confidence in their fragile political and military leadership.
Saraya Al-Quds launched the "Unity of the Fields" battle in response to the assassination of its leaders, Taysir Al-Ja'bari, the commander of the northern region and a member of the military council, and Khaled Mansour, the commander of the southern region and a member of the military council, along with a number of fighters.
During the fifty hours of the battle, Saraya Al-Quds launched about 1,000 rockets and shells. By Sunday afternoon (7/8), its fighters launched a barrage of 100 rockets at once towards the occupied territories, targeting towns including Bir Sabe’, “Palmachim,” and “Sderot.”
At that time, Saraya Al-Quds announced that it targeted all 58 settlements in the Gaza envelope simultaneously, leading to the power outage in 10 settlements due to a missile hitting a power line.
The aggression resulted in the martyrdom of 49 people, including 19 children and four women, and more than 360 citizens were injured, some critically with cases of amputation, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza.

⚫ Palestinian Islamic Jihad (1/2):
—
The Unity of the Fields battle was brought forth to express to the entire world the unity of Palestine as land, cause, and resistance, and to thwart enemy's projects aiming to impose dominance over one field over another.
In this battle, Saraya Al-Quds maintained cohesion across resistance fronts in the West Bank, Gaza, and territories occupied in 1948, including various geographical regions clashing with the occupation.
The battle thwarted the ambition of monopolizing dominance over one front without the other, creating a new concern for the occupiers and disrupting their plans, especially as the signs of unity across various fronts of resistance become apparent.
The Unity of the Fields battle reaffirmed the correctness of the resistance strategy, poised to combat all conspiracies of settlement and denial of the Palestinian people's rights.
The battle unequivocally proved that resistance is the only way to deter the enemy and reclaim the sanctities, not through negotiations, meetings, and defeatist agreements.
The Unity of the Fields battle foiled the occupiers' plans to neutralize the resistance in Gaza, discredit it, and attempting to portray it as impotent in front of its people, and incapable of enforcing its threats.
The battle undermined the occupiers' attempts to boost the confidence of "israeli" citizens in their fragile political and military leadership, which underwent consecutive elections without success in repairing the image of their terrorist leaders.

The Unity of the Fields battle affirmed that Palestinian unity and the focused effort towards liberating Palestine and the holy sites are among the key duties of the resistance, backed by popular support, especially after the occupiers' illusion of disrupting the unity of our people was dispelled by trying to monopolize the Islamic Jihad movement militarily, as confirmed by General Secretary Ziyad Al-Nakhaleh after the battle.
We salute the sons of our people, on whom we did not lose our faith, for standing firm, safeguarding the resistance, and we extend our salutations to everyone who supported the resistance and provided aid in the Unity of the Fields battle and other battles.
Mercy to the martyrs of the Unity of the Fields battle from Saraya Al-Quds' leadership and fighters, resistance fighters, and our people, and we extend our salutations to their families.
The Unity of the Fields battle is but a stage in the long road of our people's jihad and our resistance, a continuum of battles that will not cease until the liberation of all of Palestine, and the cleansing of Al-Quds, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and all the holy sites from the defilement of the occupation.

🚨 Marking George Habash's birthday, a drone with a biohazard flag landed on the roof of zionist weapons manufacturer Elbit in Leicester. This comes with announcement of Palestine Action Underground on the third anniversary of Palestine Action and with the approaching 100th day of the ongoing siege on Elbit.
Four Palestine Actionists are currently detained, and over 100 face prison time. "The UK government’s attempt to deter pro-Palestine activists by dragging us through the courts has backfired. It has instead boosted our morale... Critically, we have seen that pro-Palestine activism has public support and just how out of touch the government is with public sentiment."
Palestine Action Underground operates autonomously and carries out covert, non-publicized actions across Europe and beyond. They plan to release information on new targets starting on August 7th to expose zionist complicity and collaboration in Britain in order to #ShutElbitDown. The release will be accompanied with a guide to taking action.

The George Habash Brigade released a statement accompanying the action:
—
It has been suggested that the master’s tools cannot dismantle the master’s house. The George Habash Brigade is not so sure.
On the 2nd of August 2023 the George Habash Brigade (GHB) undertook our first action against the merchants of death in Elbit’s UAV Tactical Systems site in Braunstone Town, Leicester. These criminals produce biohazards everyday, which they proudly claim to be “battle tested” on Palestinians. UAV Tactical Systems is the site of assembly in Britain for Elbit’s murderous drone fleet, and so the GHB sent its own drone of liberation in the name of Gaza and Jenin. We have breached the enemy’s security with ease and thereby shown what we can do.
Elbit should expect further action – the sky is no longer their domain alone. Unbelievably our drone remains undisturbed, together with our “present” inside a biohazard bag. Elbit’s arrogance is its undoing. We will make a further statement in due course and will send this to Palestine Action.
The GHB salutes the Palestinian resistance and follows their path, the path of AlQuds and liberation. We name ourselves for George Habash, the founder of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and hero of the Palestinian communist movement, and we took our first action on the anniversary of his birthday. We hope to honour his name and his cause in the practice of real proletarian internationalism, both in our action today and all that is to come.
The GHB has taken up the cause of Palestine Action, the trailblazers of a new kind of resistance in the imperialist centre. While we continue to admire the incredible advances of Palestine Action, we recognise that a new form of underground resistance is now necessary. We identify ourselves with the movement of Palestine Action Underground and we call on all friends and comrades of the cause to form their own groups and take action as we have. We are all Palestine Action.
We call for the freedom of all Palestine Action prisoners and all Palestinian political prisoners kept hostage in the jails of imperialism and zionism. In particular, we demand the immediate release of the resisting prisoner Walid Daqqah.

🚨 At least three settlers are wounded, two critically, following the latest resistance operation in “Tel Aviv.”
🟢 Hamas Spokesman Hazem Qassem:
Our valiant resistance continues to direct its strikes against the occupation and its settlers, in a new affirmation of the resistance's ability to confuse the occupation, and to establish the formula for responding to its crimes against our people and its sanctities, especially Al-Aqsa Mosque.
These operations are a natural response to the crimes of the occupation, which escalated its aggression against our people in the West Bank, continued its policy of execution in the West Bank through its army and settlers, and raised the level of its religious war against our sanctities in the occupied city of Al-Quds.
