In the Russian history textbooks for the 9th grade, the term "Eastern Armenia" will disappear in the section devoted to the Turkmenchay Treaty.

The Azerbaijani Embassy in Moscow has made a similar request to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education.

Despite the absurdity of the request and the attempt to distort the history of the region, the Azerbaijani Embassy reported that the Ministry of Education approved the request and stated that this expression has already been removed from one textbook and that it will be removed from the second one when reissued.

It is not clear how this is technically possible. For clarification, Infoteka24 turned to the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. After receiving the response, it will be published.

A scandalous video about the alleged surrender of Shushi.

Film director Arshak Zakaryan has published a 17-minute controversial video showing Armenian intelligence officers monitoring the movements of Azerbaijani troops heading to Shushi.

The video shows footage from October 27, 2020. As you can see the Azerbaijani troops moving through the mountains and forests without fear of airstrikes. Allegedly, the Armenian side knew the exact coordinates of the three Azerbaijani groups from October 27 (and maybe even earlier), which eventually ended up in Shushi.

The town of Shushi is out of control of Karabakh forces, Artsakh president’s spokesperson Vahram Poghosyan wrote on Facebook.

Shortly after that, Artsakh president Arayik Harutyunyan shared his own version of the developing situation along the entire front of the Artsakh Republic, assuring Armenians that the “Defense Army and militia forces stand firm on our native soil.” “We can throw the enemy out of Artsakh, because only the strong will of our people can determine the outcome of the war,” he wrote

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, on his Facebook page, posted, “The battles for Shushi continue.”

Dozens of live videos of soldiers from Shushi, all of them saying that the fighting continues.

Mihran Harutyunyan, Olympic champion, live video from Shushi, “do not believe anyone, we are here, we are in the city.”

Battles continue near the town of Shushi, Armenian Defense Ministry official Lt. Colonel Artsrun Hovhannisyan said.

Artsakh’s Foreign Minister Masis Mayilian also issued a statement with encouraging undertones, saying in part, “Shushi has been and will remain Armenian. It is time to make a breakthrough.”

After the war

Nikol Pashinyan
“The same logic was always at play about ending the war: the surrender of the territories including Shushi without the determination [of Artsakh’s] status,” Pashinyan told parliament.

Shushi was never discussed during the negotiations.

Anna Naghdalyan
Armenia’s Foreign Ministry on Monday rejected a claim made by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan who told Parliament that the surrender of Shushi had part of the negotiations since 2016.
“At no stage of the peace talks has there ever been a discussion of surrendering the city of Shushi,” the foreign ministry spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan said in a Facebook post, refuting Pashinyan’s claim.

Nikol Pashinyan
“It is very important to understand whether or not we could’ve avoided war, yes, if we were to agree to surrender 7 territories including Shushi to Azerbaijan, but was this the policy we wanted to pursue? No, it wasn’t. The Defense Army of Artsakh and the government of Armenia, our military decided to accept this challenge. Unfortunately it didn’t bring the desired results. From the first day many figures were calling for surrendering territories at the cost of stopping the war, but today they are accusing us in treason for doing the very same thing. One thing needs to be realized here, there wasn’t a substantial difference of early or late, essentially. Yes, the condition of surrendering Shushi was brought forward, if not from the beginning then in the preliminary period. The Artsakh authorities, the Defense Army took this path, as long as there was a change to defend and fight until the end. They fought heroically until the last second. Unfortunately the task wasn’t solved. Yes, we are responsible for not being able in two years to fill what wasn’t filled for decades,” he said.
