Special announcement today by the minister of CIC:

-CIC lifts the 20 hours limit on international student to work off-campus effective November 15th, 2022 until the end of 2023.

- CIC will automate the approval for study permit extensions, meaning more resources would be available to process more complex applications.

IRCC will issue over 20000 invitations in the coming two weeks for PGP sponsorship. The invitation will be sent randomly to those already on the pool from 2021 and 2020. No new EOI will be taken.

Between 2017 and 2022, over 30000 U.S.-based skilled workers applied for a C12 work permit (ICT). Indian nationals residing in the U.S. accounted for %83 of the workers moving from America to Canada. The number of C12 applications was slightly at its peak in 2019 and slightly decreased in 2021 and 2022.

The ATIP Plus data shows that Indian students accounted for the largest proportion of these college-level study permit applications at 46%, followed by Nigerian and Filipino students at 6.4% each. It is worth noting that the number of Indian college students applying for study permits in Canada significantly exceeds the combined total of Nigerian and Filipino students.

The IRCC will accept the Pearson language test for immigration purposes beginning in late 2023, making it the third English-designated language agency.

The conversion table to CLB is yet to be announced.
Canada announces the second round of extension of post-graduation work permits for up to 18 months starting on April 6th, 2023, which includes those out of status and beyond the 90-day statutory restoration timeframe.

Is it reasonable for the Immigration Appeal Division to find that it does not have jurisdiction to hear an appeal pursuant to subsection 63(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, S.C. 2001, c. 27 if the permanent resident visa is expired at the time the removal order is issued?

The FCA answers it as " YES".
