DD for HSP:

1)Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP):
-Isolated thrombocytopenia in healthy child with no joint involvement. BM may show increase in megakaryocytes.

2)Meningococcemia:
The child is very ill, toxic with high fever. DIC may occur.

3)Leukemia:
CBC is important with BM.

4)Acute hemorrhagic edema (AHE):
-Which is an isolated cutaneous leukocytoclastic vasculitis that affects infants <2 yr of age, resembles HSP clinically.
-The younger age, the nature of the lesions, absence of other organ involvement, and a biopsy may help distinguish AHE from HSP.

According to clinical presention, may be DD of arthritis and so on.
